Never used clips. I’m assuming advantage there would be you can reuse the clips. This is very quick and cheap. What I’m interested in finding out is how well / long the tape lasts over time UV exposure etc. for garden veggies only has to hold up for a season, but for my berries, kiwi and grapes would like to see if it lasts longer.
