🎄 Cherry Crescent Ring
1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, drained well and chopped
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
3/4 cup chopped pecans
2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls
Glaze
1 cup confectioner's sugar
2 Tbs heavy cream
1/2 tsp almond extract
chopped pecans and chopped cherries for garnish
Preheat oven to 375° F. Beat cream cheese, sugar and almond extract in a stand mixer. Stir in 3/4 cup pecans and cherries. (Save a few cherries for garnish.) On a floured surface, unroll crescent dough into one long rectangle. Fold the dough lengthwise in half; roll into an 18x12-in. rectangle. Spread filling to one inch of the edges. Roll up like a jelly roll. Seal at the seam.
Transfer to a greased baking sheet, seam side down. With a knife, cut two-thirds of the way through the ring at one inch spacings. Twist to show filling.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Make the glaze by mixing confectioners' sugar, cream, and extract. Glaze over the ring and top with extra chopped pecans and cherries.
🎄 Christmas Tea
6 cups hot water
1 tsp whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
6 tea bags
¾ cup orange juice
½ cup sugar
¼ cup pineapple juice
1 lemon, sliced
Place all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on high for 3 hours. Remove the teabags after one hour. Serve with lemon slices.

This was so magical! Special china means so much. Last year my mom passed away and I always treasured her Villeroy & Boch Naif Christmas dishes but she only had four sets. So, I completed her collection to allow for dinner for 8 this year and it has been a lovely tribute to her and also such a beautiful way to continue her memory for years to come. Last month my dad passed, so Christmas will be different for myself and my husband but we are grateful and have been focusing on starting new traditions (including a new nutcracker each year, too!) and making the most of the season. This was a delightful tour of your merry making ! I love that you ended with A Child’s Christmas in Wales. My father always read this book to us on Christmas Eve. I have bought copies for my older children this year who are young adults so that they can continue the tradition when they have their own families and we may remember our Welsh ancestors .

So cozy and elegant! I absolutely love your Christmas tree with the diagonal spiral ribbons. So luxe. Your croissant ring reminds me of pastries I grew up with back in Europe. A clever idea to use croissant dough. I might try making it with puff pastry for a slightly different texture. Baking it in a Bundt pan will help it keep its shape. Jennifer, I know that Christmas gifts are not the focus of this vlog, but I think books are a great gift and I'd like to suggest one that has to do with Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. I think the title is something like, 52 Little Lessons from "A Christmas Carol" by Bob Welch. I haven't ordered it yet, but Dickens is one of my favorite writers of English Literature and A Christmas Carol is so near and dear to my heart. --Just a suggestion.

I, too, love Victoria magazine. Do you know that is how I started my etiquette business. Maura Graber hosted a nine-course dinner and she advertised in Victoria. OMG that was in 1994!!! I opened my business in 1996. I also started my business in order to stay home with my son when he was young. How life happens....I truly thank God every day to have been able to stay home with my son and also for my business. Also, I will be publishing an updated version of my book. Such nice Christmas atmosphere Jennifer! I would love to watch a video by you tackling the following issue: how do you find balance between homemaking and actual free time for yourself? I mean I also love taking care of my home (cooking, cleaning etc), however, there are times that I think about the time I actually spend doing all this and what my life would look like if I stopped cleaning altogether and spending so much time in the household. Sometimes I feel it’s a waste of time and maybe we should prioritize other things such as our actual hobbies … what do you think?
