Hey man, I’ve been watching so many of your videos in preparation for purchasing an engagement ring for my future wife. I just wanted to take a second to give you a huge thank you for making things so simple and easy to understand. At first, I was terrified by not only all of the daunting specifications of diamond shopping, but perhaps more so the price. After watching your videos, I’m so much more confident with the buying process and am thrilled that I’ll be able to get her an amazing ring much sooner than anticipated and at half the cost. So thank you again so much! You’re really doing an incredible service to so many people out there. Keep it up.

I used this video as a guide when choosing an oval diamond at 77 Diamonds London, it helped me stay within my budget while choosing a great diamond. Thank you!
Hi Osiris! Love you content. I’m surprised they doesn’t have more views. If you can and have the time, please try to upload a video weekly and consistently. Once you reach the ballpark of 50 videos, your content will more frequently pop up on suggested videos. Let me know if you want some suggestions on content ideas 😊
thank you for your videos! i sat down and watched the Blue Nile website review w/ my boyfriend! he was sooo enlightened and relieved to see how affordable diamonds are. and understanding them. can you review Princess cut?
Any additional specs/tips on when getting an oval engagement ring with a halo around it and uniformed diamonds around the engagement band and wedding band ?
Thank you for this video! I was looking online at Blue Nile and James Allen and I do not see a Aspect Ratio filter on the advance filters anymore. Is there another way to narrow the results for the perfect aspect ratio?
I would like to take your advise please Which one better value for these two GIA diamonds : Round brilliant 2.07 carats F Si1 3 excellent strong blue fluorescent Oval brilliant 1.71carats vs2 E EX SYMMETRY EX POLISH strong blue fluorescent Oval measurements:9.33*6.73*4.16 Both look fabulous no inclusions seen but which one better value
Hi Kimberly, I will certainly try to get that done soon. I do have some buying guides for that on my site. Feel free to email me when you are ready to buy.
Thank you thank you thank you! All I needed was a starting point and finally I now have one! There is so much to choose from and all these letters and numbers just confused me. I want a 3ct oval or pear size center stone and my budget is $20k. Im not sure if one exist that I will like in my desired ct size but I will remain hopeful. At least I know where to start with H and a SI1. Thank you so much! Out of the pear and oval shape which one will give me a larger look? I do plan on putting a halo around either one to give it a more of a wow factor. Thank you
I am very glad that my videos have been helpful. I do have bad news. a 3 carat for twenty will be impossible to find. Especially if the cut is excellent. I like pear for size. Pears will have a bigger spread. A halo gives it a wow factor that's for sure. Especially in that size range. H SI1 for sure.
Hi - I have lots of questions I’m looking to buy a 4 CT oval either lab created diamond or moissanite - - I want bling and no inclusion to the naked eye. Where can you get the best price on a 4CT lab diamond world wide. Can you explain fluorescence again? I have in mind the platinum setting I want with halo to make it look even bigger. I appreciate your advice.
Hi there - not sure if it posted my comment but I’m looking to buy either a 4CT lab created diamond or moissanite. I have a lot of questions - - is there a cheaper place to buy lab created diamonds world wide like from Canada or India?? Who regulates the prices of lab created diamonds?? Can you explain fluorescence again? I want big sparkle and no inclusions to the naked eye. I appreciate your advice. I know I want a halo platinum setting.
One can simply decide to not choose a diamond with a visual bowtie. They didn't eliminate them, rather they just show you a premium selection with a premium price attached. You can simply navigate a website and choose to avoid bowties and avoid paying a premium.
Hi! I'm thinking about buying a yellow diamond. I was thinking oval or cushion which shape would you recommend and if you could do a video on yellow diamonds, that would be awesome and very helpful.
Can i ask about The marquis diamond 5 carat k color (19.05 x 8.82 mm) vvs2 , 2ex, flour Strong $53,780 . Do you think it too skinny on finger ? And it has perfect shape and good deal?
Thanks for the comment. Slowly, more sites are adding GIA certs to labs. Its still dominated by IGI as of now. Eventually, you will see more GIA certs in labs.
If i needed a yellow gold solitare with an oval diamond would it be bad to go down in color because of the gold, or is it better to go higher in the color since the diamond will be alone
I color is very acceptable and most people. cant see color. If its an emerald or pear cut you may want to go higher in color but rounds hie color very well.

Hi Brandon, thanks for the comment. Its subjective. Here is a video i did with different options- ruclips.net/video/cJwM5PH-coc/видео.html I would try to see what your significant other likes. Classic rings like pave and halos are always great.
Hi! I’d think a 1.40ct oval could yield a better measurement. I’m getting at 1.20ct oval diamond with 8.72 x 5.95 x 3.73 measurement! Hope this helps! :)
I've a question. James Allen website has 2 other tabs - Symmetry and Polish. The "Excellent" Symmetry and Polish graded diamonds are very few in number and expensive. Is it worth to choose the "Very Good" grades of Symmetry and Polish, with ideal Depth and Table percentages? What are your advises.
Yes, it is still worth it. If the cut is excellent, the other factors are in the ideal percentages and symmetry and polish are very good, you can still have a beautiful sparkly diamond.
Stubby diamonds 💩 😂 if there is no specifications on oval diamond cut, I imagine they hand them over to the less experienced diamond cutter and keep the rounds for the experts. Bit of a worry for a perfectionist 🙄

No I wouldn’t
Do you have any tips for marquise diamond selection?

Glad you enjoyed it

Hello, its diamondcityonline.com
Are the diamonds cut graded in other countries, other than the old US of A? UK for example
There can be several grading facilities around the world yes.

Was wondering if you have seen Jannpaul white series oval which eliminates bow ties? Is it worth the money?

Yes it does. A lot.
Like Mohamed said, Oh yes. Every diamond shape has ideal settings for an ideal cut. Table and depth percentages play a big role.

How about a 1.56 ratio?
I received a 2.1 ct I SI1. I know you said H in color is ideal but is there a huge difference between H and I
I color is very acceptable and most people. cant see color. If its an emerald or pear cut you may want to go higher in color but rounds hie color very well.
oval cut does have GIA certificate. what are you talking about?
Oval doesn’t come with a GIA cut grade. Only rounds do.
Hey, is 8.8x6.32 a good l/w? Too skinny?
That's a 1.39 l/w ratio that is a perfect length.
Blue Nile shows a GIA cert with their oval diamonds, is it a real cert?
Oh yes, it's a real cert. GIA doesn't give cut grades to oval but they do certify them.

Hi Debbie, you are right I cant inform you pon numbers alone. I will tell you to avoid I2 diamonds 1000%
Bowties are the bane of ovals, pears and marquis diamonds. To my mind, avoiding a bowtie is the most important consideration with ovals.
Thanks

What settings do you recommend for oval cut diamonds? Any settings I should avoid?
