This is so unlike the Goju Ryu Sanseiru kata (the one that I know) that I can't at all see how they are related to each other. Surely they are two different kata with the same name? This is very, very impressive! Thank you.
I am not sure of the specific history, but I think the same instructor from China taught several guys the same style of Chinese kung fu, and each came away with their own "version." Wuzu Quan or something like it seems to be one of the parent styles of Uechi.
Robert D: While the two styles sanseiryu are unrelated, some Uechi ryu schools would use its original name, sandairui, so the two kata are differentiated.
Unaware of any pictures where Kanbun Uechi demonstrates a posture. There are pictures of his son, Kanei. One of them, if it is the one you are thinking of, is the *boshiken kamae* with the front foot in a *neko dachi* or "cat's stance" after the knee/shin block. This posture is the conclusion of the moves that come right after the right Sanchin strike at the end of the kata.
Uechi Ryu is said to have come From Pangai-noon, taught to Kanbun Uechi by Shushiwa in Fuchow city. I have heard many people say they think it has roots in white crane style
Correct it actually has mostly Tiger styles, but also Crane style elements and Dragon style elements. Different katas focus on the different styles. Sanchin is the Tiger style, Sanseiru is supposed to be the mostly Dragon style. I forget which one is crane...
@@RyanNadel it's all tiger with small elements of crane and dragon. Fuzhou huzun quan or tiger ancestor fist as the same sanchin as uechi and contains 5 forms called sanzhan, shisan and three sanshiliu shou forms. They also use the exact same fighting stance with the palms n claws.
I lived in China for many years and what I’ve seen is that this style karate comes from Fujian White Crane. I know this because the three main forms in Uechi Ryu are still taught I’m white differently in the Fujian province of China
His every move is so perfect. Like its cutting the air appart

I always tought its called tora guchi in nekoashi. Doesn't kamae mean a type of guard?

Its mostly from Yontai tiger styles according to 99% of Uechi Ryu masters...

@@RyanNadel Seisan has the heavy crane influence
1:16 is slow mo kata
Terrible form. Most of his full turns are with his hands down or close to his body. Easy way to get hit in bunkai.
He can do it any way he wants.
BUNKAI HAHAHAHAHAAHA
Hands are never down. Hands close to body on purpose.
can you post a video of you showing how it should be done so we can correct our mistakes ?
@@barryarcher6158 In my opinion, just study the above kata.
