Dani, I have been a certified diver for 55 years. I've dived in many places around the world. Many more places are on my bucket list. I love it. I will tell you this: Everyone has a fear of deep ocean water. Everyone. It is an in-built instinct, it is not intellectual. It lessens over time, but never really recedes to nothing. I have done wreck dives to 165 feet (50 meters,) drift dives in 6,000 feet (1,800 meters,)--saw a school of hammer-head sharks there! I have done cave diving in deep water with black-tip reef sharks. I also have a fear of the open deep. Get over it and get on with it. I want more of your amazing pics and vids. Some of the seal photos, IMO, are your best work. THANKS.
Yea I also am into diving and I can't say I ever had a fear of deep open ocean, but there is a certain 'ring' that keeps you on edge in such conditions for sure.
@Hans Apollo Sure. Why not? I'm not as spry as I was at 16, or 26, or 36, but diving is NOT strenuous. In fact, it's easier than walking up and down the stairs.
I've been diving for 40 years now, the last 25 as an instructor, but I never was afraid of deep ocean water. I'm focused, but then I'm focused on every dive.
Not only that, but I simply find it bloody marvelous hanging there in the water, knowing that the bottom is 500m or more below me (oh, and I'm in awe).
Well maybe not everyone.. ive dived in hawaii in blue/black water where you couldnt see the bottom and i wasnt afraid
@@uncleron9481 awesome
I'm gobsmacked at just how easy you make it look, to get well-composed and visually delightful photos underwater! You certainly have a wonderful talent. Please tell your mum she made a very special baby. Oh, and thanks for the squirrel calendar which will arrive any day - it's a secret present for my wife.
Sea lions are definitely the right start to cure your fear of the ocean! Love it when these guys come visit me when I dive.
You have a wonderful voice and accent. Great narration!
Dani's narration is brilliant, clear and concise. She has a brilliant future.
Thank God for your boyfriend filming all these beautiful moments with you. Without him we won't be able to see all that beauty with you at work.
great video! those shots were amazing. i wont forget that face on that little sea lion looking directly at the camera. that was so perfect
The joy on your face when you saw the dolphins was magical and you got some great shots shooting blind too.
The quickest and most wonderful 14 mins 36 secs. I can't wait for the next episode.
What happened to SVB is really scary, and goes to show that no corporation, however big, is immune to collapse. I have always had a deep-seated mistrust for corporations. I have plans to pull out most of my money, but don't know what to do with $350k sitting idly. I'd like to go into the stock market, maybe. Any ideas?
The dolphins were magical!
@7:12 OMG, look at that face!! Can't take the sweetness!!! I'm so in love with all of your subjects ... tears through almost every video you make.
You're so brave! What a fascinating adventurous life you live. For those of us not as brave, thanks for sharing such glorious videos of all types of nature❤❤❤❤
I've watched your video after finding you awhile ago, and I need to tell you that, the way you tell an story is amazing and super interesting! You are an great storyteller!
Your videography and background music are absolutely stunnning! I remember the first time I encountered wild dolphins. It was 1973 or 74, I was the topside watch on a submarine as we sailed west from Charleston, SC to our cruising/patrol destination - The Mediterranean Sea. We hadn't submerged yet (back then we had to wait until we were in international waters before submerging) and I watched from the conning tower as dolphins surfed in the bow waves, with a few seemingly jumping for joy every so often. It was an awesome sight! Later on after submerging I caught a glimpse of a whale in the periscope. Memories I sitll hold dear.
I can't believe those dolphin shots were blind! They were stunning and framed so well. This was another magical video, and I have a lot of respect for you going out and actively facing your fear - you were quite literally throwing yourself in the deep in! Really inspiring.
Thank you Dani, just to say I really enjoy your videos, The seals were enjoying your company just as I did 😁👍👍
Stunning seal pics - beautiful light!
This is a bloody brilliant video! What an experience, photos were fantastic. 👏😀
Hey Lou, big fan of yours and Dani's videos and your love of nature. ❤

Congratulation!!!
Thanks so much for sharing this precious world with us!
I think it's quite funny I got an Ad for the new Jaws movie while watching your video haha. Loved the pictures of the curious Sea Lion!
I have been a professional photographer for man-year mainly working with people but always loving wildlife. Never even got close to getting the wonderful results that you do. They are just breathtaking!
Sea lions are definitely the right start to cure your fear of the ocean! Love it when these guys come visit me when I dive. 💚
As long as you have a fear of the ocean you will always be more aware and it will help you stay safe.
Oh, the memories. I visited Baja California when I lived in San Diego. I do miss the ocean and the desert. So I do envy you but I am also happy for you! Especially as the seals seem to congest around you, almost like squirrels 🦑🐬🐠🦈
Dani, if you can't beat the fear, do it scared 👍🏼
If you even get the chance to go to Australia, Coral Bay and Exmouth has some of the best underwater experience 👌🏻. Manta Rays, colourful tropical fish, green turtles, reef sharks, whale sharks, dugongs 👌🏻
Watching Jaws at a young age has scared me for life. I never feel safe in the ocean.
Fantastic video of wild sea life. Looking forward to next part.
Since this vid was published, I bought 3 lenses from MPB. They are excellent. I couldn't be more satisfied. They're a great company. I highly recommend.
what an amazing spot in the desert ! ...wanderlust !

Thank you again I can´t wait for your next video.
Another wonderful story Dani ....
there are some excellent images of the lions here, such that are works of art
Beautiful photos. 😁👋👍
Loved your storytelling
Beautiful picture with the new lens
Fear, or at least some trepidation when you plunge in the open sea is completely natural for most people I would think. Bobbing semi helplessly on top of the deep blue, with its vast water masses beneath you as deep as the mountains are high, sometimes deeper, teeming with all kinds of lifeforms that are somewhat strange to you and unlike you, in their right element. You're playing with the big boys now.
Added to that, there's a psycho-philosophical component that essentially confronts you with your insignificance, and ultimately your demise. It's scary, but also incredibly liberating and enlightening when you overcome it. And on this topic, I highly recommend the song "This is the sea" by The Waterboys, if you're not already familiar with it. Watch one of the song videos with clips from "Riding Giants" for that extra confidence boost it can give you to see how humans can interact with the ocean :)
Way to go Dani…lovely photography and storytelling ☺️.
great video and amazing photos
Beautiful video Dani. I went to Baja a few years ago staying in a lovely boutique hotel on the west coast. Magic!! Got great shots of Pelicans resting & in flight. Look forward to the next video, cheers , John.
Just "wow" - about everything ❤
OMG, those seal photos are just beautiful. Looking forward to the next video 💜
The underwater world is something magical! Marine life is so beautiful. Best way to overcome your fears is to face it head-on.
I went on a dolphin trip in Australia and after reading some comments here I have to share what our instructor told us (after the trip). He observed us being all excited and overjoyed on the beach, and interacting as if we had known each other since childhood, whereas before we were mostly a bunch of adult strangers, who had just met on a boat. He told us, the reason we felt so high was because dolphins activate some part of our brain that produces serotonin (from what I recall) and they communicate like that in between each other. This seems to be a reason, why dolphin therapy is great for autistic people. Every now and then people tell me about their dolphin experience and they will use all the same words to describe it: They were so happy, overjoyed, it was magical :) I wonder if there is really scientific evidence of this. There seems to be plenty of anecdotal evidence :)
Great overcome
I love this tory, Deni.
Good job Dani
This was incredible!
whaou that's so cool!
This is an beautiful vidéo with beautiful animal. Thank you for your work 🙌🙏🏻🌱🌲
I was viciously attacked by a dog when I was a young man. I have a fear of dogs now. But I am not afraid of them. I love dogs. I own a dog. I think many people misinterpret the word fear for afraid. I have a healthy respect for dogs. I loved this film. Thank you for sharing 🤗😘💖🙏
Awesome and interesting video Dani! I like it!
That's great!
You are amazing. Love your video. 👋❤️
please please please do an academic journey vlog, you know a levels, degrees, jobs, ect. how you got to become a wildlife photographer. it's my dream and I'm having to think really carefully about future education ect. i think loads of younger viewers would benefit too.
As a scuba diver, I really appreciated this video. Thanks.
Just started watching but Great video.
In depth exploration
My whole life there have been frequent spots of advice on Danish television and radio about safety on our many beaches and in our waters, and the last two sentences spoken are always:
"Follow the safety advice. Only a fool does not fear the ocean!".
Great job Dani! When learning to swim in the ocean the first thing our coach said regarding the animals underwater was, "You are in there territory-be respectful" It was hard to remember that (and not to scream and flail) when I swam into a smack of jellyfish...and squid are pretty scary up close.
NIce clip Dani!
I understand this was about the ocean but that sequence of the stars beginning at 13:30 was my favorite part!
💜💜💜
I totally understand your fear! I could never do scuba diving!
Mexico has so much to offer - thank you for sharing 👍
I'd love to hear about how you white balanced the underwater shots.
Thank you for existing Dani🙏
haha that sailing boat in the background :)
Good video
AAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!! ❤️🥰📷
Wow Dani you did an outstanding job, this video is film documentary worthy! I too am afraid of the deep ocean I don't think I could ever just jump into the ocean and swim with the wildlife. I did finally swim with a dolphin for a short minute while in Jamaica but it was in a enclosed cove with a group of tourists. I can't imagine what it would be like swimming with them out in the open. And yes I definitely think the sea lion was playing with you 😊 I never thought that they sleep floating in the water like that I thought they did it on land lol
