This is why editing photos should be used responsibly and not taken lightly. This man actually took the time to find that gap in nature where the wave turns into a lens and shows this wonderful scene. Photography is about where u are and when... and the work it takes to get there. This is why i hate instagram.
This photography evoked such awe in me it brought tears to my eyes. It took me back to peering through waves much like that while snorkeling as a kid. I think now what I thought then: that looking through the window of the wave is some sort of divine gift which might otherwise be reserved for the gods. It's a rare work that can call forward such strong feelings. Super commendable!
As I sit here in awe after watching this amazing video on December 16, 2019 I realize there are at least 94 people on this earth that are either jealous and lack any creative talent or they’re just blind and shouldn’t be liking or disliking the video in the first place. If in case it is the latter, I apologize. For all you negative Nancy’s, get off your couch and or computer and at least go take a walk outside. It won’t hurt you, trust me.
May I be so bold as to say , for the 35+ generations, ur photos or more your videos u captured with great dance music, we love it ... and dance to the bliss of under water and on screen just dance to your magic u captured. 🤞🏼✊🏼👍🏼👌🏼🤘
Absolument splendide! Digne de l'Oscar du court métrage. Meilleure photographie qu'il est possible d'admirer; la vue d'un poisson littéralement. Mille mercis à Ben qui apporte une dimension jusque là négligée.
Incredible! I love swimming in the ocean. I find it calming when you lie down on the floor of the ocean and you look up and watch the surface of the water. Thanks for sharing!
A powerful reminder that when we believe we got something unique to supply this world with, we shall never stop til we achieve it.Thank you for bringing your magnificent vision to us humans!
Through his camera, the wave takes the literal shape of an eye and the ocean glimpses the land before blinking shut and the wave closes. The wave becomes a lens in front of the lens of the camera. Very beautiful .
This video brought tears to my eyes. The beauty of those waves, those pictures, the videos captured... I am at awe. Amazing photographer and amazing videographer! 😍
Amazing images ive been swimming in the ocean for almost 40 years and i've never seen those beautiful rings previously, God bless you brothers the ocean is the perfect world...thanks for sharing..from El Salvador Central America best wishes to you all,.....ENJOY IT!...
Broken hatred. The link above to his story and photo kit is BROKEN !! - Non the less I salute you and cheer you on Ben. An amazing photo view finder perspective. Greg Greenrow, and Aussie. Way back in around 1967-8. Strapped a full size underwater camera on his back positioned so it would shoot over his shoulder. Knee riding a "pipo board" aka, belly board or buggie board. Greg took us "Inside the Green Room" the name of his film. Farther back in to a tub than anyone had recorded before. Then to top it. He proved one could turn up in to and over with the breaking wave and complete the 360 roll with so much speed. He would shoot out of the tube. All caught on film, on a biggie board riding on his knees. Man I wish I could find that film. I saw it in 1970. Anybody - Hit me up if you know where I can find a copy.
Magnifique! It is so rare for an artist to be able to literally find and then pioneer a niche, and then to do it well. I hope he also has large prints for sale in Galleries, they really are awesome!!
Credit to a person that sticks to what they love and work on his personal vision to create what isnt being seen. Photography is my love as well, and even after 30+ years of shooting, I see people with mediocre content getting phrase, while the ones that really understand and pursue a level that demands respect is just trying to stay relevant.
Ben, you are the most innovative, dedicated and accomplished photographer I have ever seen! Your work is in a class by itself and an absolute thrill to experience!
Digital photography / photoshopping has made even the novice photographer pretty good. However, it STILL takes a talented photographer with an "eye" for it to make a GREAT photographer. Nice job and beautiful pics!
I love this. Even at the beach I make sure to be able to go far enough out that I can float and peer up at the sun as it disperses through the waves. The oceans calm strong waves guiding me to and from reality. It’s like being reborn. Getting to watch videos of this is the next best thing.
Amazing- you capture the rolling power of the wave. If the wave had a eyes, blinking toward the shore.wonder what surfer will ride her today. He captured with his lens.
1:48 Pause it there and just look at it. I can't think of any other sport that's this surreal. All that powerful flowing all around and in different directions. It's like a sport held in zero gravity and forceful gravity at the same time. Incredible footage.
Ben, Your work is amazing!!!! Makes me want to get out in the surf to shoot. 3 more weeks and I am back in Costa Rica. Land of the Pura Vida! My images can be viewed at www.viadeagua.com
You've gone a long ways towards encapsulating my love of surfing, the ocean, photography and some very special times, places and people in my life! I look forward to more of your work. Thank you ~
La mejor manera de pasar una ola es nadar debajo de la ola... Aún con gogles no alcanzas apreciar la fuerza y armonía que se forma debajo, pasa muy rápido todo y hoy lo disfrute, cuánta magia.. gracias!!
I love videos and photography like this. I came across a documentary a few years ago about a guy named Clark Little. It's amazing. I believe it's called "Shorebreak".

So I’m guessing they used the second best underwater photographer to record him? Lol
true.
To say anyone is 'the best' at any art is a strange claim
Hahaha. I'm the worlds best at something subjective and unable to rank....weird flex but ok
That was his wife who is second photographer.

Yeah thinking about that also
Get a camera, and look what you can do with it. Experiment, have fun, work hard and maybe one day you're able to be a professional.

You have to imagine the thousands and thousands of hours spent in the water to get those beautiful images. Congratulations for this fantastic job.
This motivates me to step up my ocean photography.
This is mesmerising how peaceful it is under water the light is beautiful and the massive waves that could easily knock you out are so calm and clear
