Meet Alyson Lyon, an artist in the Fine Arts Building!
Alyson Lyon is a lifelong artist with a background in performance, writing and education. She holds a BFA from DePaul University's Theatre School and a M. Ed in Secondary Education from DePaul University's School of Education. She trained in makeup artistry at Makeup First Chicago and worked makeup in all media for close to a decade, informing her approach to layers, balance, color and texture. She also studied Figure Drawing at Palette and Chisel in Chicago. Her art has been exhibited in Chicago, is held in private collections across the US.
In addition to her art practice, Lyon is also a professional actor, award-winning screenwriter and has taught high school English + Theatre, Reiki and yoga.
