- I had to break the old pots to get them to safely release the root balls so I could up pot my key lime trees so they can grow bigger and healthier.
Soils used:
Kellogg garden organics indoor potting soil (25qt bags). $11.00
Miracle grow indoor orchid potting mix. (8 qt bags) $7.00
Roughly a 3 or 4 to 1 ratio of kellogg to orchid mix, plus down to earth organics 6-3-3 citrus mix fertilizer.
Absolutely beautiful babies you got there, Jon. They're vibrant!!!!
@@hannahmarie6848 thanks! :)
That soil looks so good 👍 overall very enjoyable up potting video!
thanks!
Your trees are looking good
thanks! They are getting nice and bushy!
I love the bush citrus trees the best, I have to overwinter mine and I have to fight spider mites and thrips. Your plants look great.
I keep them outside whenever possible. If it gets too cold they come inside.
@@JonFTCwhat’s the lowest you would keep em out?
do you think i can just sprinkle it over the trees i already have potted?
yeah I sprinkle some of the fertilizer in about 2-3 Tablespoons every 2-3 weeks and then water it in.
each of the spoonfuls i'm putting in on this video are like 2 tablespoons
check out elder yehudah channel he has a lot of good info on citrus, also madison citrus nursery. :)
