    Congrats on 200k amazing achievement. Also nice to see you sharing your tips and tricks as well. Signing up for the Amex BA Standard & Premium Plus Cards was the best thing I ever done. Being UK based BAEC is the best FF programme to earn on as you can fly both short & long haul. In the space of 6 months( by November this year) I will be going from Blue( entry level) to Silver/ OWS and with the cards I already have enough miles to fly 2 of us on an Amex 2-4-1 in business class and back to thailand for nothing.
    I've taken hundreds of trips on Easyjet and have nothing to show but the memories of the trips. Now im going to have all the benefits of BAEC Silver/ OWS and a free flight to somewhere I've always wanted to visit.

    I’m thinking about starting to get into the credit card game. Unfortunately I don’t have much of a credit score so I’ll need to start with the secured card first. Fortunately I spend a lot monthly on flight school so I can easily hit the minimum spend on most of the cards. Thanks for the video! Really great info. I’ve watched a lot of these videos and this explained it perfectly!

    What about annual fees? Some are rather high. And do you cancel the cards after the first year to save the fee? That would reflect negatively on your FICA score, no?

    • @chaitanyat3961
      @chaitanyat3961 6 лет назад +5

      The annual charges are insane, it is the only thing stopping me from getting a credit card.

    • @NonstopDan
      @NonstopDan  6 лет назад +33

      I keep most of my cards past the first year - usually you can call and they’ll waive the fee or give you some free miles. Without calling to waive, I’d pay about $800 per year in annual fees, but many of the perks make up for it!

    • @chaitanyat3961
      @chaitanyat3961 6 лет назад +4

      Did you just reply in a minute? Am I dreaming?

    • @ajithkumar1000
      @ajithkumar1000 6 лет назад +1

      Is this 800$ annual per year is per credit card or many cards. If so how many cards

    • @TheAircraftKing
      @TheAircraftKing 6 лет назад +7

      Chaitanya Thekkunja The charges on many of these cards are high and I myself pay roughly $1000 on card fees. Many of my cards are those that Dan has while some are not. I would agree that the perks mostly make up for it but other than that. I don’t fly nearly as much as Dan does in a year but I can gladly say the amount of flying that I do “up front” on miles and the money that I save beyond well offsets the cost of the combines annual fees.

    Thank you and like I’m extremely inspired. This is so informative. I am planning to go to Norway for the December holidays to visit family. I also want to go farther north to see the Northern Lights. The credit card info very helpful. Does the SAS card also work through Norway? I will do research on all this helpful advice. So much advice!!! I just want to travel to Oslo in business class since I have such intense anxiety. Too bad when I fly in Norway domestic flights are like a small airbus. I get so claustrophobic. I found you when your Ethiad video popped up in my feed and I realized then that if a young man can do this, I have to subscribe and learn from you. Looking forward to more info on how to do travel with style and comfort. I need to watch this over and over and get everything figured out. Thanks so much.

    I love this channel. Every time, when a new video comes out, I enjoy your flight experiences. As far as your 18 credit cards are concerned, you also have the costs. Probably a lot cheaper in the US than in Holland. The large number of free miles you get are not available here, well, maybe 2500 mls. Since 5 years I live in the Philippines and the same story as in Holland. Fortunately, here we have Air Asia, a kind of bus company, but then in the air. Forget the luxury, but as an example, a return flight MNL - KUL, a 4 hour flight, for 95 euros incl. meals. So there's enough money left to spend on the spot.

  • @rayhughes
    @rayhughes 6 лет назад +13

    Thanks for your hints at traveling 1st or business class. What you say about credit card usage is "Gaming the system". As you suggest, being very organised is essential with this many credit cards.The down side is that most credit card companies have monthly fees .. With 18 credit cards does this not cost you a fair drain on your budget? Also, entering into a credit card company relationship increases your risk of exposure to a greater invasion of your privacy. Is that something that concerns you??

    • @LetsPlayPokemon
      @LetsPlayPokemon 2 года назад

      I dod find that to be a glaring omission. Many cards have annual fees upwards up $250 CAD, which would be enough to obliterate most monthly budgets if they are all coming up at once.
      Maybe if your annual fees are spread out across the year, it’s more manageable, but still, seems something is missing here.

    Please don't go out and get 18 credit cars unless you can pay the balance in full every month. Even with reward points, cc are typically a bad deal. These CC must be paying these guys to advertise them, or they get a kickback for referring. So please, don't go around opening these cards. They are in no way a sound financial decision.

      Philipp Gampe I get it. Where I come from there are a lot of people who do it and live off of their parents while on a gap year. But there are also people who work during that time, which I think is more acceptable /achievable for most of us without well off parents. College is not fun either way, so I'm glad I didn't take a gap year, that way I got it over with faster.

    My mom started doing this years ago, she only has one card, but she does most of her purchases on her United airlines card, in her case she was also helped by the fact that she had to travel a lot for her job, but got to keep all her points from business travel, though it was scattered across multiple carriers. So she has been able to get flights for little to nothing, and even a few business class upgrades. She is now retired, but still uses her United airlines card.

    Dan I have one question, how do you manage to reach the minimum spending requirement for all these sign up bonuses with a low income

    Q: Once you have used up the initial signup bonus miles for a credit card, does that credit card then fall into non-use, that is, do you allow it to go dormant and you then simply just sign up for more cards to get more sign-up bonuses, etc? Thank you!

    Very good summary of how to actually get miles through credit cards! I wrote a bit on how to earn miles in Dubai, now moved to China and started to investigate what the possibilities are here :-) Have fun flying and keep up the good work.

    Hi Dan, Thanks so much for these amazing videos!! Do you have any info about how to collect points/miles in the UK?? From my initial research it seems like there isn’t much I can do here ..
