This is a candling video of my 2nd pair of parakeets. The hen has laid 7 eggs, 5 are fertile and two infertile for now. I'm very excited and I hope that all of them hatch healthy.
@Rodrigo Reyes I just tap their nest box and when I open the nest box she leave her nest. I take the eggs out and when I put them back she enters again.
I had to move my parakeet's egg from the bottom or her cage because my new bird got jealous and kicked them out! The mother excepted the eggs after I richer them.
Sometimes females can laid eggs without a male. Obviously it will be infertile. If you have other birds in your cage and your not so sure just wait a few more days. If she lays more eggs and she starts sitting on them candle them after a few days. If you see fertile ones then you might have a breeding pair. If your bird it’s a parakeet or budgie generally you can tell their gender by looking at the cere. If it’s brown it’s a girl and if it’s blue it’s a boy, but this is not always 100% accurate.
If the tail laid only one egg you should wait until it laids the second or third egg. Sometimes they start sitting on them after they laid the second or third egg.
That sometimes does happen, specially with first time parents. My female is having eggs for the first time too, so I'm expecting that some won't be fertile either. Tho she's been brooding from day one, which is a good sign and not very common (usually they'll wait until the 2nd or 3rd egg to brood), it's still not sure if they all will be fertile. Cheers.
@Gidget The Budgie If all goes well it should take about 3-5 weeks until the first egg appears. That is if you have a good couple and that the couple is old enough to breed (approx. 1 year old). It can take longer tho before the first egg appears, there is no specific rule actually. You'll just have to wait. Cheers.
Bts.memes if she is a parent for the first time that is common but be thankfull because someting what happens is that the female can break her eggs if she is a first time parent or she could take several weeks to lay eggs wich is what happened to my bird but she is ok. That probaly happened to your parakeets eggs because she was a first time parent but if she wasnt then something must have happened while your birds were mating
Shilpa Pathania well it's best to leave them incase when u put them back in, the mother could smash them up c she'd think u would of done something to them. So in my opinion, it's best to leave them.

After how many days we can check this ?
After 3 or 4 days
@Brigitte Coffman Yes it is, for me is easier that way! :)
is this possible weather egg is fertilize or not before to put inside incubators? what's the way?
What was the outcome of the 5 fertile eggs?
My budgie laid 3 eggs without male, are the eggs fertile? (Please reply)
They are not fertile. You need a male and a female budgie if you want fertile eggs.
How did you take the eggs out of her nest? Did you wait till she left? Or did you "kick her out"? How did she react when they where returned to her?

Make a video that you candling the egg in day 1 to day 23 please

The7HK ok thank you
My teil laid egg which seems like the 2nd egg during candling it hsa been 2 days that she laid it . What should i do.

Birds tend to laid eggs every other day so give it some time and candle them in a few days.
I candles my parakeets eggs and she had laid five...four were infertile and only one has a chance of hatching 😱

Excuse me, Do you know how long until the mother has eggs from when they are first introduced to the nest box? Thank you!
