The dude who asked the question has it all wrong.
Near the end of the show the band had just finished their second last song of the night “Over Now”. When they finished the song Layne says in a sombre voice “Well...I think that’s it”, meaning that their set was finished. When Layne said that someone in the crowd started booing loudly, to which Layne jokingly shouts out “Hey, fuck you maaaan!!!” So it was clearly Layne who said that.

@@seanfromyt4457 your right... it was Jerry, and i think it was lars who yelled out, don't quote me on that.. Jerry is also sugar coating that night wayyyyy to much. The end product was glorious, but the taping was a disaster. Layne started using again a week or two before the show because of the pressure from not playing together after a year and a half or so break and mtv starting to pressure. First real blow up was he showed up with the purple hair which he told no one about after mtv had the lighting all programmed. He then brought some of his own stash with him and used right before going on to calm his nerves. From that point, it went all downhill. Each song took an average 5-10 takes because he kept forgetting the words, till they finally set him up with the lyric sheets. If it wasn't for Jerry talking him through it, and Sean keeping everyone in the beat, it never would have made it to air. The mess up and re-start on Sludge Factory you see on the unplugged dvd is actually takes 7 and 8 of that one i remember hearing.

What happened was some guy booed when Layne said, "I think that's it." Then it was Layne that replied to the guy by saying, "Hey, fuck you man." to which everyone laughed. Then they came back and did the encore. It's actually pretty clear what happened. That guy has not listened to it loud enough to hear every nuance, I guess. Another funny bit was before the last encore, the killer is me, people were shouting out titles they wanted to hear as an encore. Someone yelled sickman. Appropriate. But someone else yelled freebird. I wish they would have given that guy attention cause it was perfectly timed.
