    Omg I feel the same way. My ends are curly. But because I bleached (I overprocessed like 1.5 yr ago) my hair is breaking off which is why I decided to lock my hair up because it knots up and breaks off when wet. I keep combing my curls out which doesn't go with damaged hair. And the attention I get with my locs having curly ends is something I don't want to lose but now I'm at the point where I'm tired of spending 10 hours on my hair every month to only keep breaking it off. My theory is to just let it do what it wants. Go head and lock it all the way up. Embrace it. Let grow out and then if I have extra time every 6 months or so, comb just a little bit of the ends out like you do. I'm tired at this point smh. I hope mine turns out right as I've had a very rough journey not knowing what I'm doing lol. Trial and error. Keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞🤞🤞😊😊😊

    Question did you use the luminous blonde or light golden blonde? For the dye

    • @GoldeyLoc
      @GoldeyLoc  3 года назад +1

      I think I did lightest blonde when I did it the first time and most recently I have toned it with t18 toner

    Thank you for this, I started my locs the day you uploaded this & this notification popped up right when I was crying because my locs/process of getting them was just not what I expected. I was just saying that I was going to keep my head covered for at least 4 months and then put in faux locs after that lol thank you for your transparency and staying true to yourself.

      Aw boo!!! Talk about perfect timing!! I’m all for doing what you need to do to get over that hump!! If you need to cover them to feel confident then do it !! Everyone’s journey is different. You will fall in love with them in your own timing!! Just remember to always take photos to see how far your journey has come. They will change so much and you won’t even realize it which is why documentation is so important!!! Keep your head up and don’t give up on your journey I promise it’s worth it 🥰❤️❤️

    It's the raw honesty and transparency for me! I was just looking up hot oil treatments and saw your old video and figured I'd look to see if you are still locd. Sure are! And they are beautiful!! As are you! I'm just a cpl months ahead of you.

    I'm starting to feel similarly about my curly ends and the aesthetic of it all. I love my locs now and I'm honestly getting tired of detangling my ends. The maintenance feels like my hair is still low key loose

      This comment is crazy timing because why am I about to comb my ends out tonight and film it😭😭😭😭😭

      @@GoldeyLoc Lmaoooooo!!!! 😂 Honestly, I'd probably do the same thing after a few weeks. The aesthetic is cute! BUT it does get annoying having to constantly pull em down to stop the locing process. Can't wait to see this lol

    I think you’re referring to interlocs. Thats the instant loc method. It’s used for both Microlocs and sister locs

    • @GoldeyLoc
      @GoldeyLoc  3 года назад +2

      No that’s interlocking. the instant loc method is done with a crochet needle and actually creating a loc bigger than micros or sister locs. Not sure if you’ve seen people get loc extensions but it’s the same process just with no extension added

    • @cecileeke1975
      @cecileeke1975 3 года назад

      @@GoldeyLoc It sounds like the same to me. If it’s without extensions and you’re still pulling the hair within itself, I believe that is what interlocking is. I have interlocs, but my hair was started as traditional locs (comb coils). From my understanding, interlocking is a method used with a crochet hook or interlocking tool. You can establish your hair this way as a starting method as well. It seems like that is what you’re referring to when you talk about instant locs. I always thought instant locs were adding the extensions in.

      @@cecileeke1975 you can interlock with a crochet hook but you can also create instant locks with it. Interlocking means you use the crochet needle to pull the ends of you hair throuh the hair near the scalp in a pattern usually going north west south and then east. It is usually used to tighten your hair rather than retwisting it. It can also be used to create instant locks but rarely. Creating instant locks with a crochet needle is when you twist the hair and then push the crochet needle in and out in a rapid movement to tangle the hair down the length of it. I have used both techniques. They are different. You really shouldn't tell someone they are wrong about something you aren't familiar with. She knows what she us talking about because it is her hair and her experience. IJS.

      @@LRJones I appreciate you explaining it to me that way, but I never said she was wrong and for you to excuse me of that isn’t right. Throughout everything I said, I said “to my understanding.” If she or someone explained it to me the way you did, I would’ve understood that they are different methods. So next time, please be careful what you excuse ppl of doing.
