He genuinely belongs in the hall of fame, the Mountie v boss man heat was a big part of wwf that year and my childhood. He was such a good sport the way he did the Mountie.
Jacques Rougeau is a real class act. An outstanding gentleman. I remember hating the Mountie when I was a kid growing up. But after so many years have passed, you see that the bad guys in the business are truly good people at heart. Jacques Rougeau is a classic example. Based on this interview, it’s clearly easy to see that the Quebecers should’ve been in the Hall Of Fame…like yesterday! I appreciate this gentleman’s honesty. He’s transparent and has a wonderful sense of humor. Kudos to you, Jacques!!! 👍👍
I do agree they should keep it wrestlers and those directly in the wrestling industry for the HoF. Keep the celebs out, they get other ceremonies to be part of.
I have been saying for a couple years now is they need a wing for the "Jobbers" guys like Barry Horwitz , Steve Lombardi and Iron Mike Sharpe. I have so much respect for those guys because I believe like Jacques just said they played a crucial role one of the things I see wrong with today's wrestling is they don't have those jobber level guys. To me those guys not only let you put over your Heel as a monster or your face as a talented performer they acted like a buffer or middle man between two guys working a program that you could use to help move the story line along build heat without the two wrestling each other every week today if two guys are scheduled to face each other at a pay per view they are in matches and have fights every week some times twice a week on both raw and smackdown. So by the time the pay per view comes around you have seen the match so much you kind a lose interest in the outcome.
It's hard to put the jobbers in the HOF because really everyone was a jobber. Even Jacques jobbed for so many others. You let Barry Horowitz in the HOF how do you not let guys like Jacques, Lex Luger, Sid, Nasty Boys, Earthquake, Martel, etc? Earthquake for example jobbed for Hogan. Everyone jobs for those above them.
Can't blame him. How many guys did Vince do this to? Always promise that if you pay now, he'll reward you down the road, and then when that day comes, he wants you to pay a second time. Who the hell would trust him? Glad Jacques got out when he did.
@@chadk890 Right? At least JR was being used in the WWF maybe not to his liking but he was on TV a lot. I likecJR but he was a midcarder, nothing more, nothing less.
Jacques explained it very well , alot times every one has their opinion about the screwjob too. They did Bret dirty after putting all these work in for years
Bret had a history of not wanting to do jobs for anyone. Bret had given his notice to the WWF and it was his time to job to Michaels, but he did not want to. Bret really got what he deserved. I disagree with you on that one. Vince is the boss not Bret. Jacques after giving his two month lost the final two month because he knew his place.
@@trebillis7399 who are all the people Bret refused to job for? Calling BS, he did TV jobs for everyone. Hell, in 97 alone he lost on TV to Vader, Sid, Patriot, was seen to be tapping out to Shamrock, let alone the jobs he had done in the past to everyone from Crush, Yoko (clean), Lawler, etc. He also did even have to contractually do Survivor Series because he committed to so many dates. If anyone was unwilling to jobs his ENTIRE career it was Michaels. Just look at how many titles he actually lost clean as both singles and tag.
Most people do not mention this. Bret and Vince AGREED to end the match via DQ from outside interference by THF. A deal between two men should be honored. If Vince did not like that idea, he never should have agreed to do it. But, being that he did, he is in the wrong. He did screw Bret. There was plenty of opportunity to put the belt on a transitional talent before he left.
incredible and simple statement that should be repeated to all wrestlers...'to many are broke because they hang by a threat' i hope whenever vince reliquishes control there is a flood of very deserving former wrestlers and wrestling personalities that go into the HOF. it's pathetic that people who were pivotal during VKM's golden era are absent from the HOF
Maybe him and Pierre jobbed but it was by dq or count out beside the one week reign from Marty Jannetty and The 123 Kid and the two day switch to MOM overseas the Quebecers held the tag titles and defended consistently September 93 through late April 94
The Quebecers in '94 fit in fine, but The Quebecers in '98 just felt way outta place. It's amazing just how fast things changed in such a short period.
I don’t think the way he left after WM10 is affecting his HOF chances as Vince brought Jacques back in November 1994 for his retirement match, and again in 1998 when the Quebecers returned from WCW. I do think the Rougeaus will be in the HOF. Cyndi Lauper does deserve it too. No MTV or Rock-n Wrestling. No big ratings, possibly no WrestleMania.
Jimmy Hart to induce the fabulous rougeau Brothers should be in. Dino Bravo demolition killer bees Tony Garea I can go on but there is your hall of fame.
Hearing how much time these old school wrestlers spent on the road, I literally laugh when AEW wrestlers like FTR and other wrestlers on their roster have said they have a hard, busy work schedule when they only work one day a week, maybe 3 at the most. Isn't that weird Frankenstein wrestler PCO from Impact wrestling his former partner in the mounties? Or am I thinking of the Quebecers? I remember being a little kid in the early 90s and I remember there was a few French Canadian gimmick wrestlers in the WWF at the time.

Wow, what a load of crap but what would you expect from the guy. The fact are that Jacques didn't lose a lot of matches during that period. He worked with the WWE up until october since he had his retirement match in october then when to work for WCW before coming back to WWE for a little bit. So yeah, Vince really had a grudge against him. The only reason he's not in the hall of fame is because nobody in the business likes him.
