  • In this series of video's I pull the Magneti Marelli fuel injection system off my Harley Davidson FLHRCI Road King and convert it to a FLHRC Carbureted Road King. The I after the C means fuel injection.
The most technical part of this job was gutting the inside of the fuel tank and converting it to a petcock style with a reserve (You will need to do this if you do not buy a new or used tank with a petcock on it.) and this part will take some patience so be patient not to mess the threads up with the bit. Otherwise the job was not hard.
Here is a list of parts.
    1 - S&S Super E 11-0459 Shorty carb kit
    1 - Dynatec TP88-2P ignition module
    1 - Namz EFI-To-Carb Ignition Wiring Conversion Harness NHD-32435-99
1 - Pingel 62052 Magneti Fuel Injection to Carburetor Conversion Tank Kit
1 - Drag Specialties 0705-0282 Chrome 22mm Forward Facing Spigot Fuel Petcock
    1 - AC Delco 16212460 MAP Sensor
Special Tool for cutting the inside of the fuel inlet.
    1 - McMaster-Carr part #3011A19 Straight-Tooth Keyseat End Mill, High-Speed Steel, 5/8" Diameter Mill x 3/32" Thick.
I put this bit in a 1/2" drill and worked my way around the inside of the fuel inlet. You will have to take your time so you don't bugger up the threads. Seriously be patient and relax. It's important to make sure you cut up high enough that you leave 1/2" - 5/8" of threads but not to high that your fuel level is to high when you turn on your reserve on.
The bike runs great, thumps at idle like a carb bike, and is much more responsive than the EFI system. The S&S carburetor is pretty simple adjusting and the S&S directions that come with the carb kit at top notch.
The Dynatec ignition module is plug and play with Namz wiring harness.
