The Gators probably do win three out of four years if Carlos Dunlap doesn’t get a DUI the week of the Alabama game in 2009. He made the Florida defense the best in the nation that year. He was replaced by Justin Trattou and the rest is history.
@@christianrichardson8956 Florida dropped a lot of passes in that game which was frustrating, including two Touchdowns in the end zone, one from Hernandez and one from Nelson.
The 06 championship season for The Gators was more exciting than the 08 one. The 08 team just destroyed almost everyone they played, after losing to Ole Miss. The 06 Team eked out so many one score games that season or games that were close, and to be decided in the fourth quarter: such as games against Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Florida State, and the SEC Championship Game against Arkansas. So many "experts" hated on The Gators when they jumped Michigan in the BCS Standings to play "The team that was unbeatable that year" the Ohio State Buckeyes. Everyone said Florida didn't belong on the same field as Ohio State, and yet The Gators provided all the haters wrong with a 41-14 slaughter of Ohio State, to put an exclamation point on an exciting season that was full of thrilling finishes.
Bender2497 yes sir....Tebow was mature beyond his years. Cam Newton on the other hand had to ride the pine...while he saw the writing the wall, he still would have stayed to be Tebow's backup until he got into off the field trouble. Dan Mullen gonna get some best QB's in the mix into the future and it's already started!!
Footnote Tebow Lovers: Leak did all the dirty work, working them downfield. Why doesn't anyone accept that? Tebow was nothing more than a wildcat quarterback in 2006. Against P5 competition, his passing numbers were extremely minimal, but to those who want to embrace the legend, Tebow won the 2006 MNC, Leak gets pushed back into the history of the history of the irrelevant. This is not only a shame, it is a tragedy...
Tebow did the dirty work. He literally ran through the lines on plays like 3rd and 4th and short, even at the goal line. When Florida needed to keep the ball, Tebow went in and made sure they had another set of downs. He was a tough runner and passed a decent amount this year, but showed us what he could really do the next year.
Well Leak lost the Auburn game with all his horrendous turnovers and also that D won Florida’s championship. Florida’s D had to block 3 kicks just to beat SC. Leak also almost lost to Vandy but thank goodness for Reggie Nelson blocking 2 punts inside the 20 to seal the deal. Leak was horrible in Dan Mullen’s offense. Heck Leak tried to give the game away against Arkansas. 2nd half interception, shovel pass intercepted for a return TD, and multiple punts. Luckily Arkansas’s PR fumbled for a TD and Harvin went into beast mode. Thankfully against OSU Leak had his best game ever.
Tebow is a great college player, who was lucky enough to have an equally great offensive line. Watch Tartt #63 seal the tackles on both ends of the line. Notice how many times Tebow runs behind him and how far he drives the D-tackle backwards.
THANK YOU! Look Tebow was a tremendous player but people talk about him like he did it all by himself... Ummm he had an amazing group with him all years
Came back to have a idea how Coach Meyer will use Tebow. People are insane if they think he will just line up at TE. Imagine a triple option with Etienne and Tebow at FB. Insane
Ahh, back when I was glad to have Tebow as a Gator. '06 and '07. Televised football is way too slow, but this rapid-fire video is way too fast. Can't get into the flow of the games in either format.

Who knows… Bama slowed that offense down that game, was a lot more that went wrong than the D-Line

@@R.POliver I know I’m just saying… it was a lot more than just a few plays
i remember watching the jump pass live at my uncle's house. legendary moment.
The legend of Tim Tebow was born during this game.
Are you sure? I didn't see your first post here....
Some people be shocked to know this was Florida first win over LSU in the Swamp since 2000. 2002 LSU 36 UF 7, 2004 LSU 24 UF 21,
As a freshman, against the 9th ranked team in the country loaded with NFL guys on defense, and he was unstoppable.
Jimbo Fischer and Dan Mullen the OCs here
Tebow was incredible to watch. if he had won the BCS his senior year he would be the greatest college player ever. But still top 10 as it stands
This was one of Tim Tebow's best performances (and he sure had a lot of them).
He was voted best college player ever.
TheAntiSnowbird I disagree. He is still the best ever.
Jeff after 2019 I think the best college football player ever is Joe Burrow
@@savagetigerfbfan6673 he only had 1 season. No doubt he was in God mode during that year but Tebow has 4 years of accomplishments.

Earl Everett is still chasing Troy Smith without a helmet to this day.
the jump pass vs LSWHO is without question my favorite memory as a Gators fan then i got to meet Tate Casey 13 years later at the FSWHO game
Lucas Mann lol LSU’s football program is superior to Florida’s
This looks crazy old now 😂
Bro Reggie Nelson killed Lafell on that Ryan Lewis interception
Tebow is easily the greatest college football payer ever. He's running over all-americans as a FRESHMAN!

The legendary jump pass game!
Bronco nagurski
As an LSU fan Tim Tebow is the greatest college QB of all time.. no doubt
Jimmy Jimmer Cam Newton is better
Rogelio nope
Rogelio lmfaooo okay bud
Then why did Cam Newton back up Tebow?
Actually that's an opinion.
Honestly lsu could have one this game they gave up like 12 points on muffs and fumbles.
I’m no mind reader but Chris leak looked salty as hell when Tebow scored.
Why wouldn’t he be? He was a Senior (that started multiple seasons before this)that was getting outshined by a Freshman

Chris Leak always looks like he was hating on Tebow 🤣
There is no F way that I can watch 21 minutes of ANYTHING with that dumb request to follow you taking up 1/5 of the screen.
great game

What’s funny is in the 2011 game Jordan Jefferson mocked gators by throwing the jump pass for a TD himself
