Hi. Would you be able to answer me this question please. When sketching i do for example a rectaangle, give it dimensions and when i am adding other shapes inside this rectagular and giving them new shapes dimensions original rectagle dimension changes. There must be something that i am doing wrong?
That is not possible, if you define the rectangle's sides only to the rectangle then it will remain as is. But if you define the rectangle's sides to another object, and if that object moves the rectangle will move with it. So coming to this, just dimension the rectangle's length and breath only using the rectangle and maybe the red origin point. Now you shouldn't have any issues.
I need help! How can enlarge some of a curve in the middle? So I try to edit my sketch like of a cube curve but its enlarge somewhere right or left but I want to enlarge it middle point equally in both directions.
Please Do a video on how to change/create "Styles" of dimensions. Inches to Feet-Inches. In the meantime I will try to self-educate on the subject. Thanks.
"Override" the value in the drawing from the PropertyManager of that dimension. Click on that dimension when you are on the drawing mode, and look on the left bar "property manager" and look for the Override Value box. Check that and you are there
the circles thingy, it has given me headache for 2 days before i watched this video. The other man kept saying hold "CTRL" key but what he was holding is "shift" lmao XD
You assume the viewer already knows solidworks. I don't. You don't go into how to select things. Right click? Left click? Shift click? Are you holding a key when you select multiple points, say shift or control. I don't know, you don't tell me. I've been trying to get the distance between two holes in my diagram dimensioned now for several hours. This video is not helping.
For those instructions, I always refer to those videos as for "Absolute Beginners" this video is not. You will find some of those vids on my channel and webiste

You see the unit next to the number. For changing it, go to the bottom right corner of SolidWorks and change it. In default in Europe, it is set on mm

Now show how we can put up a length but not have it change the drawing. IE: the line is 10 foot. But we want it to the dimension to show 6 foot?
