In your next play through you should have a small but highly trained group to spearhead your attacks. You could level them up by fighting Viking invasions at first and have them be like the Persian Immortals

From what I have played you should do falle, its the funniest its not as hard as it states. You should also add the 2 enemy groups as it provides more depth towards the game and 1 should be aggressive and the other neutral. Make sure you give the enemies a distant sized island as the AI work better.

As A sort of "challenge" you could find a map filled with islands and fill them all but one with evasive AI and you could race to colonise that one island.
