A level crossing located deep within the Cambridgeshire countryside around eight miles to the south of Peterborough. It is located on the busy East Coast Main Line and on a narrow no-through road which leads to little else than farmland, and the level crossing itself is surrounded by little else than open fields so is open to the elements. There are two loud alarms at this level crossing, though they only typically sound for around 15-20 seconds at a time as they stop sounding when both of the two full-road-width barriers have lowered. The barriers can often be expected to be lowered for long periods for numerous trains at a time to pass, some trains pass at high speeds, whilst others pass slowly either they're either behind another train, or on the 'slow' line waiting for clearance at a junction where four tracks become two just north of here.
