Tbh. Lazy techs won't get fired or written up. We are so short staffed, that we're happy to just have a body in the pharmacy. Im like can you ring a customer? Good. Im just trying to get through this shift. These vids help though.
I have a pharmacist that acts like this...i get that they have other priorities but if you have 2 techs that are both helping the front counter and drive has been sitting there you can do more then tell them someone will be with you
That gets me, too. And in my experience, it's been techs who do this. I'm fortunate that I have pharmacists who get down and dirty; they work drive thru and pick up. If *they* can do it, it can't possibly be beneath a tech.
I am a pharmacist and I always help out everything. One time I asked a tech to ring up a customer because I was busy and she told me pharmacists should take care of the registers because we make more than techs… I was like “are you serious…?”
Omg this is too funny! Also, it was shit like this that made me quit pharmacy. All anyone wanted to do was park their ass at the counter, (pill counter), while I did literally EVERYTHING else. It just got too frustrating and stressful so I bounced and haven't been happier!
At my pharmacy, the “real” techs who’ve been there for over 10 years do this stuff to us...I’ve been there a year and I bust my butt everyday working as hard as I can while they do this stuff 24/7...
@@savvysarah8379 Yes. The "real" techs stay at the easiest station (production, at my pharmacy) all day working at a leisurely pace, while you're busting your butt at literally all stations all day. The "real" techs are on their phones, having lengthy conversations with the regulars, always late, never work holidays, rarely work weekends, don't stay late when we're understaffed, have extended lunches, endless breaks, don't help out when they can clearly see that other stations are backed up, etc. But they've been there longer, so they're the "real" techs.
OH MY GOSH THE ACCURACY!!! There’s one coworker that takes a Tik Tok break and another that eats all day. I’m getting drained because we don’t have enough techs and I feel like a pinball trying to get everything done. And when I need help NO ONE comes to my aid, but I always helped them smh
One tech cries a lot and tells every customer about her life Another tech says she is always freezing no matter what time of year One tech is always late because she has kids and a lazy drug boyfriend but loves him One tech has anxiety issues and sneezes all the time because she says her anxiety at work but runs around telling every one including me why isn’t this done.. where are the monograms for these baskets…. I hate work
This exactly what I’m dealing with and what sucks is that our lead tech defends and protects one of the tech from pick up and drive thru plus takes break before 30 min before clocking out and they both back each other up and stick everyone else to do all the work for them 🙃
My pharmacist gave me a written consent to provide patient education/consultation as long as I consult him first. I'm also currently attending medical school, so I guess that means he trusts me. At least I'm covered legally lmao
It's been a while since I retired after 36 years as a retail chain pharmacist but it sure looks like things have NOT changed very much !! The company I slaved ...uh.. worked for, W - - - - - - ns , at one time had a program for hiring and training pharmacy technicians , then placing them in a store after a few weeks. Budget cuts came along, this program was axed, and we went back to the " sink or swim " method. Recruitment questions went from , " What is your previous pharmacy work experience " to " Do you have a pulse?" YES??? YOU'RE HIRED !!! 😳🙄
Watching this on my lunch break and had to keep pausing so I didn’t have juice come out my nose every time that song came on and Kesha’s face came on the screen 😂
We have good techs now but we had one that sat on a stool all day. If we asked her to work she would say "my sugar is low" .Then one day she left 30 minutes early without permission and was let go thank God.
I feel like Jamal all the time I'd be counting/filling, other techs be typin scripts or hanging bags but, the pharmacists always ask me to ring someone out and they can see i'm filling.
Imma be honest......I used to be that hard working tech, always showing up for everybody, damn near killing myself to pick up the slack of others and it got me nowhere. Truthfully those lazy coworkers are just smarter bc they get paid the same amount or more to do nothing while others stress themselves out, deplete their mental health and are driven insane with zero extra compensation 🤷🏾♀️ I've been much happier since I've adopted the cant be then join them mentality and I used that time to start my wn business which opens soon. Redirect that energy and work that hard for yourselves. You'll be better off 👍🏾!!!!
When you're the tech who gets stuck with all the scut pharmacy work because you actually WORK while others loaf around doing the absolute bare minimum to stay employed.
I have seen many "Kesha" when I used to work in retail pharmacies. To be fair, some of them were forced to be Kesha since they did not receive any type of training whatsoever and just did not know what to do or how to do things. These techs learned fast and became core members of the team when proper training was provided because they were actually eager to learn out of frustration during their time being Kesha. Unfortunately, many of them do not fall into this category and I think this is one reason why retail pharmacy is a stressful place for both workers and consumers.
Kesha’s laugh at 4:49 made me lol. Jamal thank you for your channel because it gives an informative prospective on what it’s like for pharmacists. Have a great week! I think Kesha is at my local Walgreens in Irvine, CA.
THIS IS GOOOOOLD 😂😂😂😂😂 we have this girl in pharmacy I swear she looks at pickup station then brings her head down pretending she’s not seeing the customer so I go grab it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
i don’t think i’ve ever seen a video so relatable. the exact reason why i hate going to work lately . why do people think they don’t have to do shit at WORK!?
Jamal is the real MVP. You know the pharmacist wont do anything about lazy techs since we always understaff. All I know is your videos make my days so much better. I used to work for come visit satan as an intern. God bless all the pharmacy staff during this time.
No no no, I refuse to do anyone else’s work. I refuse to work extra extra fast b/c no other team member wants to do what is also part of their job. 😉 And note 📝, when my Boss acting crazzzy, by telling me to do this, that, etc., and I’m literally juggling, I respond with: “I cannot do it. I’m helping this patient. YOU can do it 😁.” I’m NOT being disrespectful, it’s a reality check!!
@0:55 dat pill bottle on the left tho.... LOL..... pt has an rx for that med and strength.... *BUT I WANT A SPECIFIC MFGR!*..... UM NO MA'AM we currently have 10,000 tablets in our stock bottle sooo NO
Hahaha I work in pharmacy this is legit. I have 2 girls right now that can't leave their phones alone and it's super annoying. You're new I get that but you gotta work or I'm telling to go home. I spent months with only 2 other techs (if they all showed up that is) and worked my job and everyone else's. You know I'm still doing it all except for rare days when my little protegee (thats my nickname for her) comes in.
I just had a co worker in the pharmacy who NEVER empties the garbage throw an absolute fit about how no one else every empties the garbage but them ... as if every single person they were talking to didn't already know the truth. Don't you just love people>?
Oh Lordy...The phone thing reminds me of one of the girls I'm stuck with. I almost went off on her awhile go. On her phone making a personal call for over 30 minutes about a 'delivery' and meanwhile I'm stuck at drive thru only to get yelled and screamed at by the Godzilla beast of all patients because her script wasn't ready(though karma came back to bite her later). I think that was the one day in the last 40 days that nearly made me grab my things and walk out.
I feel that way once in awhile myself. We generally have a 2:1 tech/ RPh ratio all day. 90% of the time it’s like they expect me to answer all the phone calls. I could really use one of your PTSD t-shirts, ha ha. We have since added drive through Covid testing (which is all me btw), You would think they could handle the other stuff...
This is why good techs rage quit.
I'm gonna be singing the "never do shit at work" song for days! hahaha
Best song eva
Vacuuming during rush hours. ..... 😂

You gotta make that song downloadable so I can make it half of my coworkers ring tone 🤣
Savage lmao
It is on my page
Do you have the link for it? 🤣
My pharmacist didi this for a coworker- it's amazing
You still have a pharmacy manager??? Sheeesh, sitting pretty
what about the techs that refuse to get register because it's "beneath them"?? lol
I'd need a 30 min video

Lmfao! Jamal is the real Pharmacy manager in this episode. He deserves Kesha’s pay on top of his 😂

Going to become a pharmD after this❤❤❤
This is to much lol
Why is this so true 😅
And then they have the audacity to ask YOU to do something 💀
Amen Brotha Amen. The days when you're the only real tech while the rest are new hires are a real work of art.
At my pharmacy, the “real” techs who’ve been there for over 10 years do this stuff to us...I’ve been there a year and I bust my butt everyday working as hard as I can while they do this stuff 24/7...

I’m a new hire and I work very hard… I’m exhausted 😔
I’m dead 😂😂😂 but it really is like this
🤣🤣🤣🤣 so many techs just like this, and some pharmacists, smh.

I’m currently the only tech at my store. We went from 5 techs to 1 within a month. This is exactly how I feel about my new hires!
Omg
The one tech whose complaining about the lazy tech lol and the pharmacist who doesn’t even know what time ppl are supposed to come in 😂😂 so accurate
Put their name...there be so many names, you'd have enough to publish a " baby's name" book
AAAAAMMMMMMEEEENNNNN!!! I’m always the ping pong ball!!!😭
Lol 😂 I do almost everything and be looking at the other tech like 😒running around like a chicken with my head cut off I need my 15 I’m sorry bye ✌️

You mean that walmarteens does not train their pharm tech anymore? I sure am drowning trying to learn IC+
omg I can relate to Jamal about the late thing and brushing it off cus I actually work hard
I love helping customers otc products lol 😂
I do too but I get so slammed in the back they can tell that we’re too busy so pathetic
These vids help with coping, been in pharmacy for almost 2 months now lol
I'm having CVS flashbacks!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
This is why I’m leaving Walgreens :)
That and corporate just doesn’t care about us. And I’m sick of it.
Not Kesha boldface lying saying she was in the office talking to the manager on vacation LOLOL
Watching this on my lunch break and had to keep pausing so I didn’t have juice come out my nose every time that song came on and Kesha’s face came on the screen 😂
We call our immunization room the time out room. 😅 Also, vacuuming during rush hour made me laugh to damn hard because its the truth.
