Cant wait for my next paycheck. Ive always loved yamaha gear its top notch. Everything from their 3way shelf speakers, amps, keyboards and more! Ive still got 2 sets of 3 ways i got over 20 years ago!

Love seeing a new groovebox hit the market from an established company. That White/Orange color looks swell.

This looks really good and I'll probably get one. I also love that it doesn't have a screen. Quick feedback though, for selecting through lists such as scales, I would much prefer holding a button and turning a knob instead of having to press that button continuously until I reach the desired value. And if you overshoot, you have to keep pressing for a whole other cycle.

Dear Yamaha! Will there be 24\48 version instead of 24\41? Most of the projects\DAWs nowadays uses 24\48 and not really compatible with 41
I recently upgraded to Cubase 13 .Would there be a template to use in Cubase ?
a bit like a digitakt but with led dots instead of a display. great for 1981, makes me think of TB303
Not really like a Digitakt at all. But maybe they’ve got something similar lined up for the future 🤞
My next musical purchase was going to be a Novation Circuit Tracks, I might have to rethink that idea!
The Tracks is still a great hands on groovebox. This looks great for making beats on the fly, but seems like it wouldn't fit as good for live performance. Plus, the Tracks has great synth engines and velocity sensitivity. Just saying.
@@stephenkyburz6529 I hear you. I’ve watched a ton of Tracks videos and pretty much understand the basics but for some reason (after watching a only couple of videos ) the SEQTRAK seems a bit more user-friendly

I already have a Cicrcuit Tracks and now it's 1 week I'm playing with the SeqTrack. I think both of grooveboxes are great, with the difference the Seqtrak is more complete: it has some additional features (like the arpeggiator, much more effects directly controllable for each track) they makes it more suitable for an intermediate level player. There are some tips that are most chaotic due to not screen, BUT the app is well done and helps a lot to fix initial parameters (like sound choice or or advanced settings on sound design). They made a great work and the possibility to expand its power within an app and bluetooth makes it real modern
This looks awesome. Please tell me there is multichannel audio out via usb and vst app integration so the machine state can be saved w/daw projects
It’s just stereo over USB right now. No multitrack.
Only stereo but the manual shows that it could theoretically transfer more...
Can it receive Yamaha Modx or Montage patches?

All of the front knobs look like they could set Volume also. (Like a mixer) is there a way to do that?
Yes there is a mixer mode where each knob can adjust the volume, panning of tracks.
@@ChristopheTornieri now I just find myself using the unified Volume knob 4 after pressing down the Drum Part Button.

Have you found out if this is possible yet? The Seqtrak app's advanced midi section has a Bluetooth Midi option, but I can't figure out how to connect a controller over Bluetooth
@@m0nkmaster Sorry I didn't found how to use the Seqtrak as a master keyboard and I sold it now. It possible to use it as slave with other devices over bluetooth.

You can expand the keyboard with a more traditional white/black key layout across all the keys if You need to with they key button.
Is there anyway to connect a Bluetooth Midi device wirelessly? Bluetooth is easy enough for connecting to either a Mac or iPhone, but I can not figure out how to connect a Midi controller through Bluetooth.
The play button is the tiny button on the left? Why?
I love Yamaha sound but and the price is reasonable enough for the upgrade but …..what’s the sample memory?

I have tried copy and pasting about two dozen times and can't get it to work. Same with probability, global meter is not flashing or lighting up. I can't imagine I'm doing anything wrong as it seems relatively simple, is this a known issue?

2 of the synth buttons don’t work properly.

How can I play triplets? Or triplet, triplet rest, triplet? Anybody knows?
I didn't get if you can set the number of steps per page. Can you please clarify this ? I strongly disagree with the "One bar equals 16 steps" statement so I'd like to know more, please.

@@VJFranzK Yes, but that's basically just a number that you multiply by 16. I want to know if it's possible to specify the number of steps per page, I don't know how to express it better.
I've had confirmation elsewhere that it's sadly not possible.

Nope. As far as I know the sound is set per track only.
One sample per track. It has it's drawbacks and benefits if given enough drum tracks. This would be an issue if it only had like 4 drum tracks, but it has 7 and a separate sampler track in addition to the synth tracks. This means You can mute or pan each track instead of having to automate it per step as You would on say a Circuit Tracks.
Keep this up, Yamaha. We need a series of these things.

@@peppercrack5211 the overall design, for one thing. The material used looks sturdy enough, the size is excellent. And Yamaha has a reputation for build quality.
But hey…happy to be proved wrong. Although it is of note that I’ll calm down when you learn to be civil, mate. You kinda sound like a passive aggressive TE fan boy. Respectfully, that is.

What about part 2?
The robot voiceover didn't really mention it - but it seems like you only get one lane of parameter-locks per step.. and if you use motion recording then that overwrites any p-lock data. That's a bit of a shame, as it could have unlocked more powerful sound design. I was expecting perhaps 4 lanes per step or so
Needs to be able to chromatically play samples. Also changing scales universally may be helpful and not always a hinderance.
Pretty cool but I'd rather get something with a display. The lack of display just makes it needlesly complicated to work with
Same as the OP-Z, it has a companion app that turns Your phone into a screen. It helps keep the device more portable, which I like and encourages to not rely on a screen, but instead memorise shortcuts and knob double functions. After a while the lack of screen probably becomes a non issue. Most OP-Z users hardly ever use the app.
@@amconsole The lack of screen is just a limitation. Limitations can be worked around but lets not pretend its not one. My Syntakt has a built in screen and all I need to do is plug it in. Its easy to use on trains/buses. I would hate to have to use my phone while on the go. The lack of screen makes it less portable friendly IMO. Now you got extra cables and stands needed.
Great device but the material doesn't work at all. Why plastic and not aluminum or metal? After a while the part is bent like the OP-Z.
I don't understand why you would have a bunch of track knobs and then not let them control volume of the track.

This is almost exactly what I’ve been looking for but I can’t understand why each drum kit takes up an entire track when you could have different kits on each knob and free up about four knobs for samples and free the current sample knob for an extra DX track. Would give it so much more versatility and be an instant buy. But I think I’ll wait and see for now. Shame though. So close.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but this is a UI/UX and ergonomics nightmare with shortcuts and combinations of button/knob pressing required for some crucial functionality. This brings nothing new to the table with regards to what it can actually do, over things like Circuit Tracks, PO133, Polyend Play+, Model Samples, and a multitude of other sample 'grooveboxes' (albeit many don't have synth engines, but also many do).
Seems like just another muscle memory nightmare, for very little musical output. And I'm a Yamaha fan (normally)!
It might look cool, but what's new and exciting here with regards to it's capabilities?

Well I've not used it, but I know 'design' is all about usage and ease of use, as well as the visual aspect. But even from a visual perspective, the design is poor....for example it's light grey plastic, with only slightly darker writing in quite a small font. There are little buttons on the side, bottom edge and top edge, all with different shortcut combos - It's clearly been designed to look swanky, but for me it's like trying to do a special move combination on Street Fighter!!! My view is that it's definitely form over function. @@Steril707

What's the difference? Every groovebox is limited and a nightmare to use. Thats why I use daw with midi controllers. Single devices are finicky.
It will connect to your phone screen like an OPZ. Which I always fancied trying but bendy cases put me off.
Why does this have zero FOMO? And the PO133 is endlessly desirable.
It's not even available in US yet, has way less influencers pushing it on RUclips and is, in my opinion, more powerful than the K.O.II.or even the OP-Z. It's got the looks of a TE product, too. Given time and enough firmware updates, this could become very popular.

Why can’t use substep (to play triplets, for example) with synths? The opposite, why can’t use the step length with drums but we can do it with synths? I can’t play a dotted quarter note with drums, for example, using the step length. I’m finding some limitations about rhythm. Take note Yamaha, it’s a shame.
And me thinking that Ableton was complicated!
This thing is cool but I wish the synth engine was a little more in depth.
We'll see what future firmware and app updates bring. You can actually do quite a lot on the companion app with the synths.

Then what is that speaker cable coming out of the right side for (below the USB)? This thing def has audio out...
It has AUDIO IN and next to that is a PHONES port.
Phones out is the audio out. Its the small TRS, still an audio out.

Lol the synth engine is pretty weak, seems like a janky rompler like nexus or something. Calling it a synth is kind of a stretch tbh 😂😂😂 no oscillators to edit or anything useful really.
