Early seqtrak had lubrication issues (emailed yamaha my self). You can connect one device via USB and second on bluetooth, then you have a live mixer, and another for tweaking. Its a fantastic machine. The buttons ya, i did a live set, and the dark was an issue. in the PC app you can put any sample as a synth or drum
All the little speakers suck except MPC Live II which kicks ass. The big pro of the Seqtrak is the great preset collection for the synths. Definitely needs some build improvements though.
Good point! Didn't plan it to be like that but when i started going I realized that these Elektron devices really did set the bar for me and it was tough not to compare it like that. Thanks for watching!
Like a Digitakt, the SeqTrak isn’t for everyone. I use mine mostly as a sound module for my MPCs. AWM2 and DX engines work for me. The drums, not so much.
You know the surprising thing to me is I thought this would be a slam dunk just because of how much I love the Takt and this takes a few manuevers from the elektron world....but I ended up returning it. Just goes to show some things are not what they seem. Anyway thanks for watching!
Bought to use as a Synth Module but actually like the workflow tho lack of Probability for Synth Engines kinda boggles my mind. Digitakt had one, liked it but always got pushed aside for my Force so traded it for Ableton 11 Suite License.

@@baconbigbeats ability to Roll my own Rompler with the AutoSampler and the 64 pads in Scale n Key make a real nice compact 8 octave “Keyboard”. I have hundreds of Gigs of Keygroups for it and MPC. Keygroups are what Akai their MultiSampled Multi Velocity collections. I looked at the play n play 2 from Polyend but never jumped. I have their OG Tracker which is well made. I realized the Play(2) very likely won’t replace my Force so didn’t bother to grab one. Marcus Elbow has a lot of good Force videos as does Matthew Stratton n even Dylan Paris.
@@baconbigbeats only Sampling I really do is AutoSampling favorite Patches from Hardware, Software and iOS Synths. I am not the traditional Akai customer. No crate digging here. Hopefully Yamaha don’t keep the SeqTrak hamstrung n add new features in the coming year.
I have both devices. The build quality between both devices is day and night. I would appreciate the seqtrack if it had the quality of an elektron. I would pay more money for it as well of course.
I get that but I not sure build quality would change my mind with where I stand now. I think the OP1 has a far superior build quality then this but I ditched that because of a workflow that didn't jive with me. But I have a question for you, which do you play with more and what do you prefer?

Well, Digitakt is pure sample based while seqtrak is a synth too. I'm adding seqtrak to my digi as synth part of seqtrak is awesome!

Yup. Maybe one day I'll step into an MPC Live, I'm just having a tough time with the idea of it's workflow on those devices.
