It is the most beautiful pass on a bright clear day.

Can a full size pickup with a 2” lift do it?

Should be fine, but there are some narrow spots so keep an eye out for oncoming traffic

Hey man nice video! I have a trip this spring to do the alpine loop and I was wondering how difficult engineer pass was sense everyone says thats the hardest part. I have a stock 3rd gen Tacoma on 32"s. Think ill be just fine? Thanks!

The pass changes some from year to year but you should be fine. There was one spot on a switch back the bottom our gladiator rubicon with 33s. scraped a little but it wasn’t bad. Have fun, enjoy the scenery!

The peak, the wilderness, and the national forest are named “Uncompahgre,” with a hard “g” sound, not a “d” sound, though lots of people make that mistake, so you’re still in good company. The word derives from the Ute language expression describing the “dirty,” or red, mineral water of the many springs in the area.

Good video, but I’m going to tell you what I tell everyone that does these. Drop the canned music. It adds nothing to the video.

Only way to cover up the cursing coming from the passenger side 😂😂

One side of the trail starts at Animus Forks ghost town elevation over 11,000 feet. Not much below tree line until you get back to Lake City.

Be considerate of motorcycle riders. They cannot stop in steep, loose gravel very well (going uphill) and the switchbacks are very risky. Just be considerate! Thx

We just got home from another trip there and yes a lot of rain lightning. Mudslides closed Imogene pass and Yankee Boy basin for a little bit.

@@travelingbbqerwhich month was this? We also have a stock gladiator rubicon, is it prohibited to pull a overland trailer on Alpine loop to your knowledge and observation?
