Me? I'd pack a couple of extra bottles of vine with a smooth as silk blended Cognac. If fact, I'd pay money to hear her tipsy on the descent. Not much granted, say a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20 Year bourbon. For after the trip(s).
Agreed. Next time he should bring a paramedic. Thought she was going to have a heart attack. The funniest for me thou was when she said turn in the mirrors. If I had a nickle for every time I heard that.
I thought the commentary was the best part! Wife was: OH MY GOD! WE ARE GOING TO DIE!!!!!!! Husband: It's ok, honey...and continues whistling and enjoying himself....awesome!
@@julier1080 Same here. I sit here with tears in my eyes laughing at all these comments as many of you quote Elfie. But, at the same time, I would have been just as terrified as her. Best video i've seen in months
although she is annoying,he probably can't handle finances so this is why she is still with her. warning to men: wash your own clothes, cook your own meals and clean the house yourself,as this is the best preparation for being single and not having to deal with shit
I 'bout died laughing, Elfie reminds me so much of my Mom. When I was in my teens, we camped our way through the Four Corners, and took a "short-cut" which was a state highway on the map, but barely a game trail in reality. We did it in an old Checker cab pulling a camper trailer too! Never saw my Mom cry in fear before, but the highlight of this adventure was crossing a terribly narrow saddle with steep drop-off on the side. Halfway across the saddle, there was an old sign, literally hanging off the edge, that said "No Passing". The irony had us all laughing like crazy. Great video, love you both!
Beautiful drive, beautiful landscape. That lady has ball of steel letting someone else be in control and drive that lol! I would have freaked out until I had the driver knocked out in the back seat and taken over at the wheel
This is it. Our all-time favorite video of Black Bear Pass. Bill and Elfie inspired us to do this for ourselves in September of 2018. A great time and we said all of Elfie's classic lines as we were descending toward Telluride. The definitive Black Bear video !!!
What a fantastic ride, I loved the lady, the video was better because of her, especially the comment "my heart is in my pants" mine would have been too. Thank you for this video, Well done. The music is great too. Especially "Stand by your Man" which fitted in perfect;ly.
This reminds me of being newly married, and we got our first four wheel drive. My husband wanted to try it out everywhere, river beds, steep roads with no room, up mountain sides, you name it. I was terrified half the time. It's far easier to be the driver than the passenger. At least the driver feels in control. I can completely relate to is poor woman.
Thanks for the ride. My wife and I had so much fun with you on this trip. What I found to icing on the cake, so to speak, was while Elfie was pelting you with orders, the radio was playing Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man." Great video, beautiful sights and tons of laughs. Thanks.
Okay seriously, this is one of the best videos I have seen on RUclips. I would like to think this wasn't choreographed because you two are the cutest couple ever. There are so many wonderful pieces of dialogue but I am particularly fond of 6:10. Wonderful scenery and nice camera placement and the dialogue is to die for. Thank you so much.
This is the most entertaining Black Bear Pass video 'EVER'. I watched in fear, I was in tears with laughter, I didn't believe this to be real. The music, the whistling, the passenger! (I though it was a joke/funny editing). If its real, its priceless!.
This was the most entertaining video of Black Bear Pass I've seen. Thanks for posting it with audio :). For most people, it's easier in the driver's seat than in the passenger seat! The only part of the trail that had me on guard was that one corner right after the waterfall (after the steps, but before the switchbacks) where it's still a little wet and your driver's side has to go up a little bit and then you "slide down" a little towards the edge of the drop-off & have to let your vehicle & your nerves settle before proceeding. It's a good attention getter before you start traversing the switchbacks!
Best video ever! I think Elfie is really funny, I can't stop watching this. It's so beautiful and it gives you a real feel of being up there. It's terrifying, and I give her so much credit for doing it! We love Elfie!
She is hilarious and I can understand that being a passenger would be a tough one.....BUT listen at the 6:25 or so spot to the SONG ON THE RADIO....."stand by your man" now that's funny.....real funny. Really want to drive this road now...need an FJ cruiser bad now....great vid......GO EFFIE...
Folks, she's what made the video. Undoubtedly all of you watched it or you would not commit. I've shown this to several people and they get a kick out of it Everytime. This is a memory I hope they can share for a long time. God bless and keep riding.
O.M.G! I haven't laughed this hard in quite awhile. Bill whistles like he's making a nervous, midnight walk through a cemetery while Elfi provides her own color commentary. You couldn't intentionally make a comedy this good! It seems viewers are either annoyed or amused at the quibbling going on but I for one am amused. Great video.
I love you guys!! These crazy roads! (We live near) Thanks so much for this video! Listen to that sweet wife! Thanks for this great video! God bless you! ❤💕🙏✝
This is a "must watch" for any couple about to take on Black Bear Pass. "Go to your left! I don't care if you scratch the car by now." This video is a classic.
There's a trail nearby called Ophir pass … it's kinda easy, but *VERY* pretty in the fall, so it would probably be more to Elfie's liking. That said, what a beautiful view @ 18:18 - And that's why we love Colorado. :)
This video is incredible in so many ways. As someone who lives in Colorado and almost slid off a mountain side cliff last week this video is jarring yet amazing!!
Haha yes it is the best. Long live Bill and Elfie. They sure did Black Bear better than these people did...yikes!! ruclips.net/video/2R5cLghSWGQ/видео.html

I was talking to my husband about this pass... There is no way I could do that cause I would be just like her! Haha. Unless you have nerves of steel, wives should stay at home. Ha. I'd stress him out. I laughed so much cause I feel her.
I love this video. The music playing in the background, Bill's whistling while Elfie is freaking out, all of it really makes the video. Lol. I think being a passenger is scarier than driving. As a passenger you have no control over steering, brakes or anything. She did great.

Don't let it bother you. Half of the macho idiots insulting the wife would be peeing their pants if THEY we going on that ride, and someone else was in control of the car. It's totally natural, male or female. I actually think she kept it together quite well. Hell, she went in the first place.
Agreed. He's a great man to handle it as he did. If he had panicked it would have just escalated her. They balance one another very nicely. He's a good man!
That's why liked my Isuzu Trooper II: it was more narrow than the Jeeps and 4x4 pickups we were offroading with. On the downside, it was a little more topheavy.

Loved this one. You rock Elfi
Going over Black Bear is easy compared to the first way over it, which before the switchbacks, was a 40-45 degree down, while a 40-45 degree to your left side. The hardest by far was when the land side from your right side covered the road of the first way over with 3-5 feet of shale, 5" to 18" pieces long. I should know, for I was the only one to do it ! A vehicle with any lift would have rolled over, all the way to the stream below to your left, where the slide stopped. Yes, I was crazy, but signs were all removed to get to Black Bear from Red Mt. Pass, of which I feel was a dumb way to do it, as like if you been there before, you don't need signs to go back again. Leaving Red Mt. Pass, should have been a sign telling people that, "Black Bear Pass is CLOSED" Happy 4-wheeling.
Between the background music and the lady's nonstop chatter this was a hilarious video. The scenery was stunning and I can see why people want to drive this road.
i wanted a divorce less than 3 minutes in.

She will from now on and forever only ever go on cruises for vacation after this. XD
This is an absolute classic. I can't remember when I laughed so hard. Man she was funny as hell.

I think some of that whistling may have been nerves escaping through his lips!! 😬
Razors Edge Adventures yep. Whistling past the graveyard! Meanwhile “Stand by your man” on the radio. 😂
Elfie: "I'm for sure going to have a glass of wine with lunch today" - brilliant. love this couple.

She gotta be sooooo dang hot to support her along the trail, that noisy talking should make the trail way more difficult. lol

I love when shes freaking out and hes just whistling along with the music 😂😂😂😂😂 So hilarious.
Two things I love about this video (besides the amazing scenery)...
Bill's tuneless whistling any time that the trail gets hairy
Elfie.
he's such a kidder that BILL.

"Never mind the town, just look at the rroad!"
