Thanks for joining the conversation. A big part of choosing the correct Coupler (gap) is also how it feels. As listeners, we can't tell how it feels to the player (we must rely on their perception). I may have not been clear in this video, but the reason for approaching it this way is for a player who is unsure of where to start in determining which Coupler to use. As I'm sure you know, the true test of finding the correct gap for your mouthpiece, your trumpet, and the way you play is to experiment in many different registers. The D and the E are flat, so it's hard to say anything securely about the top F, which sounded about the same in all three tests.
