WOW! The first real GTX test at YT. Thanks Bjørn.
Bjorn always on point.
EVBjørn to the rescue !
Nice test Bjørn. Thank you.
Hope you can test the Hyundai Ioniq 5 soon as well. Really interested to see those range and charging results.
In one of the live stream he mentioned he's getting a unit in july
There’ a few test drives on the ionic five on RUclips conducted at 130 km an hour people complaining about the very poor range. Interesting to note that the ionic five is a touch over 2 metric tons compared to say a Hyundai Kona which comes in at 1600 kg
@@chrisnewman7281 Ioniq 5 is indeed bigger and heavier. I’ve seen those tests. In very poor conditions. I prefer to see Bjørns tests since he tests and compares the ev’s in similar conditions both in summer and winter. Wondering what the banana box tests will tell us as well. Bjørn tests are just the best.
Whilst I personally wouldn’t opt for GTX over regular ID4, it admittedly did look good in that colour. And it was great to see virtually no range penalty!
Hei Bjørn,
thank you for the great efficiency test! But it will be even more interested to compare Ioniq 5 with ID4. Very helpful for those who on the way to order a car. Hope you will order it soon))
The statement is incorrect: the drive unit of the Enyaq iV 80x and the iD.4 GTX are not the same - the Enyaq vRS iV that follows later will share them with the GTX.
It can still be the same physically i.e. 80X would be just software limited. Though it is possible to have some physical difference as well, e.g. in power electronics. If someone knows this for fact, would be nice to hear it.
I can't go to sleep until I watched videos from Bjorn and Munro :)
I noticed that you’re completing this test drive some time around midnight. A novel experience here in Australia where it gets dark after 6 pm
Good results, can't wait to get mine! Thank you for the video 👍
I saw this video from Poland, where they tested regular ID.4 on a dyno. With almost full battery it outputs 244 hp, with 12% they measured 232hp.
So I’m pretty sure GTX has more than 300hp.
VW is known for lowering the hp numbers on paper.
They are known for cheating 😂
@@isnogood- I don’t mind cheating like this 🤷🏼♂️
It has a 150 kW rear and a 75 kW front motor; but real life output is a little below the theoretical combined 225 kW (306 hp).
@@isnogood- World change. Nowadays there are different brands which cheat about range, acceleration etc.
@@mho0 i was thinking about dieselgate
Would be interesting to see a caravan test with the gtx.
I can't drive more than 1.5 hours without to stop for a pee-brake... come on man, we are not 20 any more 😂. I'm pleased to see the GTX is quite efficient. And nice color. I've registered for an 24h test drive. Looking forward to it.
VW has added a model with more power to the ID.4 family.
So far it was the end of 150 kW, in the ID.4 GTX it is now a maximum of 220 kW -
provided that some framework conditions are given.
Because VW points out in the small print that for full performance the temperature must be between 23 and 50 degrees Celsius
and the battery charge level must be above 88 percent.
Then the maximum performance can be called up for up to 30 seconds.
So cool! I waited for the GTX test thanks!
vw is only average for the new electric vehicles.
It’s due to delivery the “GTX” version in September in China. Thanks for the review!
The Skoda Enyaq 80x is not exactly the same. It has 265 hp and 195 kW 6,9 sek 0-100. The RS version is the same power.
If you’re Nordic, you’ll appreciate the new asphalt. When the bitumen is worn out, there is really big rocks in there and it’s very annoying to listening that road noice. Mayby it's cheaper to put big ass rocks in the mix.
Cheaper and it lasts longer.
Thanks for the test. Looking forward to 90-10% 0-100km/h test.
Because vw says that soc needs to be over 88%.
Also the battery need to be 25-50 celsius.
Thx Bjørn, for the great review. This will be a great XUV for the NA. Too bad it won't be called the GTX when comes to NA, but the garden variety AWD name. Is either this one or the Q4 e-tron quattro.
It might not have the GTX label but I hope we get that red with the black roof.
That moaning etc at 3:35 was hilarious 😂
Yes the RWD version’s acceleration is disappointing. Get the AWD in Norway for the snow! Kinda sad the GTX version is more efficient than 1st Edition (RWD).
nice black fresh asss.....faalt. love it
7:31 - "ABC - Always Buy Salsa"
The most entertaining EV review of all time! 😂 thanks Sir! ABC lol
Good test bjorn!! Thank you for your videos.
Could you repeat the mustang mach-e range test with hot temperature?if its possible with 88KW/h battery and RWD…
Thank you from Catalonia
Isn't it possible that in eco, it only uses the rear motor? Would be interesting in comfort, which would be the most used mode I think
The car uses the rear motor primary in any Mode and switches the front motor if AWD is needed. Even in Sport mode he only uses the rear if you go straight and constant. In Eco you get lower power output, so lower spin from the rear and lower need to use the front motor.
most EV´s today actually switch off the rear motor when in eco mode because they usually use a different kind of motor in the front that is more efficient at lower loads.
@@Pixelplanet5 The MEB is basically a Rear Wheel driven platform. The ID4 has the permanent motor in the back and the asynchron motor in the front. Thats why he will run the rear motor and switch off the front motor.
Thanks for the valueable info.
Dear Björn, thanks for this very interesting test! ID4 & Enyaq 4x4 can tow 1.400 kg at 8 % gradient. Me and a lot of other users are waiting for an affordable EV to tow their caravan on mid-range vacations (400-800 km per day). I am sure my recently ordered MY will do this job, but I would love to see your ID4 GTX range & consumption test with a 1.400 kg caravan for comparison. Even if you personally are not the caravan-camper type, there is a relevant target group for such application. Danke & sonnige Grüße aus Salzburg - Julius
Can't wait to play "Grand Theft All-wheel Drive"! /s
(4:29) Wasn't "GON" also a TV show? 🤔
shiny will this car come out in merica bjorn you are the man
How is the noise level compared with the updated model3 sr+.
Grand theft 😂 good one…. grand tourismo whatever x means
3:39 - Once you go black...😂
7:16 - That sounded a little bit weird. 🙃
You should introduce a new unit: Wh / 100km / banana boxes
Hi bjorn. Are you going to test ID.3 pure at some point.
Yes, please! And 1000km challenge 😏
9:16 : Have to stop to pee .... Yeah I keep telling people it's more about bladder range than battery range nowadays .... ;-)
See what temp make a difference. Much less then ID4 Test. Like i said back then
Are the Volvo truck tests still happening?
Bjørn, Can you make video about Norwegian winter with Front wheel drive cars Vs Rear wheel drive ? which one is better.
Er Hyundai Ioniq 5 på trappene for test av deg?
Can't wait to see your video on ID4 GTX driving dynamics. Though I'm in the US, so the video of the GTX is all I'll get. :(
Id-4 GTX should be coming soon (autumn?) to US as well.
VW is currently converting a factory in the US to produce EV´s once that is gone you guys will probably get all the models they can make based on the MEB platform.
Ok, this is amazing...I'm looking forward for Enyaq vRS which is the same car actualy...:D...
10:50 Did you stop and see the diving board?
That red and black is to die for.
Nice findings!
Question: Will regen still be on the rear motor or can an induction motor (the front in this case) also do regen?
great question!
yes of course
theoretically both motors can regen.
Both motors are able to recuperate; however the rear motor has a little over 4 times more recuperative capacity. This is due to an overall torque limitation of certain drivetrain parts.
Anybody know if the GTX has the same narrow turning radius as the regular ID.4? Not sure if adding the front motor would limit the steering angle or if its still as good.
Not it hasn't, 11,5 m vs. 10,2 m.
@@jline3701 Still pretty good though.
Hi. estimater range at 120 was? I am not sure i understand 🙂
Har du noen gang testet GTX på is eller snø?
Thanks nice video👍when you test ioniq5?
Always Bring Calsa.
Haha Grand theft, i just love his humor
Next ID4 may be called RTX.
8800 GTX.
wait for the RTX
Only available with fixed headrests? No thanks.
Bolleland xD 9:19
Is turning radius the same as in RWD version?
No, it's still good but not as small as with the RWD.
10.2 vs 11.6 m
"I haven't had a big Mexican in my mouth for some time"......PAUSE..!!!! 🤔
3.37 - Hahaha...Goes down for the record.
3:37
Is it a bug or is it a feauture? :) :)
Bugs outside and inside. ;)
Yei:D
You should test the Enyaq, at least the 120km/h run.

What is better for consumption , 20“ or 21“ wheels?
20 obviously
@@darthrevan9144 why?
@@Juliette72 you have less rolling resistance with smaller wheels since the contact with the asphalt occurs on a smaller surface. Additionally you have a smaller projected surface of the tires moving through the air, so the drag should also be smaller.
Hi @@pach777. I think you may be confusing width and tyre rim size. 20" or 21" wheels refer to the rim size / diameter of the tyre. So if someone mentions they have a tyre with the following 205/55/R17 it means that it is 205mm wide, has a rim wall (from alloy to top of tyre) of 55mm and rim size / diameter of 17inches. So it is the first number that has an effect on rolling resistance.
Based on that I don't see how a 20" would provide better fuel consumption unless you are taking into account the weight of the extra inch of alloy on the 21", but surely that is negated by the extra inch of tyre on the 20". I would say the difference of consumption between the two would be negligible.
@@Juliette72 Your opinion is contrary to what every car manufacturer claims. Also check this out: ruclips.net/video/NYvKxsYFqO8/видео.html
Is this bigger or smaller than say model y?
Tesla model y is bigger
Check out the banana box test video for ID4.
Id-4 GTX can carry more payload weight than Tesla Y LR.
@@Foersom_ tesla model y is bigger.
17 cm longer
7 cm widther
13 cm longer wheelspace
325liter more total cargo space

@@haraldschon2485 No Car can produce 300 HP all the time dumbo. It's only at a certain RPM.
@@nitinsinha1739 Hello Dumbo.
In most driving situations, the permanently excited synchronous machine (PSM) works on the hindquarters. It is 204 hp alone.
For more grip or a sporty driving style, the asynchronous electric motor on the front axle is activated in milliseconds.
According to VW, 299 hp as maximum power are available for 30 seconds.
@@nitinsinha1739 VW has added a model with more power to the ID.4 family.

Nein er ist Norweger. Er macht videos meistens auf Englisch, und zum teil Norwegisch und Thailändisch.

GTX sounds like a graphics card, AWD is more informative.
only for youngsters... Plymouth GTX existed way before any graphic card
