    I am a type 2 diabetic of 40 years and I do have some protein in my urine, it went from 49.9 to around 69 in 2 years, my latest egfr is 97, I have no symptoms of CKD so far, should I be worried, I am 68.

    Good info! Myself being 60s y.o. man, single kidney, Cr 1.3, on BP meds...I've recently noticed that I am not tolerating large heavy meals with meat, as I get older. Mostly Plant based or at least, much less meat is my main goal for food intake now!

So far the numbers aren’t horrible, 42mg/L of Albumin. Haven’t had a protein;u annoyingly. Thank you guys for all you do, and right now; this and the following episodes. They come in really handy ❤

    I have stage 3 ckd and a stone attached to the wall of my kidney and also a stent in place. I also have a lot of protein in my urine and think this may be affecting my osteoarthritis in both knees due to lack of protein in my bloodcells. My urologist has indicated my left kindney with the stone is only functioning at 15% and it would be best just removing it. Any advice on this?

    I have stage 4 kidney disease caused by COVID. As a result i often suffer from cramps and muscle spasms. Is there something i can do to help stop that...

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  8 месяцев назад

      Muscle cramps and spasms can be caused by several different things with CKD. Like electrolyte imbalances, build up of uremic toxins, muscle or nerve damage. Definitely talk about it with your doctor so you can see what the cause is for you! A renal dietitian can help evaluate your diet and see if there is anything lacking that may be contributing to it too!

    I have ckd stage 4. My last urinalysis showed a proteine level in my urine at 100. And though it is not a,lot, wondering if I should be concerned that it may be increasing because my previous level was 50? Don't know if I should bring this up with my nephrologist or not? 🤔

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  8 месяцев назад +1

      Trends in labs and urinalysis are definitely relevant to look at and discuss with your doctor! Better to catch an upward trend early on then to wait until it (possibly) continues to trend higher upward!

    What is the best way to test for diabetes nephropathy ?

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  8 месяцев назад +1

      Usually bloodwork and urinalysis are used to screen for diabetic nephropathy. Ultrasound may be done. And biopsy IF diagnosis is not clear.

    Are the numbers of protein leak or albumin leak from a 24-hr collection of protein? My random urine protein is at 13 mg/dL. I don’t fully understand it. I have IgA nephropathy.

      We can't recommend starting or stopping medications. You can always seek a second opinion from another doctor if you don't agree with or feel right about the recommendations you're getting from your doctor!
