I think the Deegan’s have put on a master class for several years on marketing and self-promotion. That said, I think the Deegan decision to forgo the MXDN race is a tactical mistake. With the world going to sh!t right now Americans would love to see the Red, White and Blue hoisted up at the MXDN. If the MX2 rider that helps make that happen is Hymas, he will win over a ton old school fans. IMHO
I'm thinking in terms of schedule the postponing the Surgery probably means Deegan would have to race the East coast again in SX to be fully prepared for the season.

When screws are taken out they leave holes that can take time to heel 100% and are also prone to issues like infections ect so its not ideal to have that done and then go straight back into full on training or racing. Racing is a business. If the team says no, we need him to win championships to justify his salary then so be it. Haiden can want to race all he wants but for the team it's all risk with no reward. What if he gets hurt and can't race sx? What does Star say, well at least our guy is more patriotic than this years supercross champion. He will have more opportunities to go in the future. I think Chance will do great. He trains with 2 of the best guys right now and his results are starting to show. Take Deegan out and he is the obvious choice.

It was all the behind situation and politics, teams and costs that means Haiden Deegan is not going. I think Haiden himself is actually bummed he can not go race it in England. IF the AMA could find an extra 10-20 million overnight for Super Duper X last year and this year.. they surely have 200k-500k to put aside each year in order to send THE BEST team they could, with no costs to the teams, riders and so on.

Jeremy Coker said they’re always in for des nations back in July if the AMA is willing to put their best team together. The AMA has they’re best 450 riders in the team, so was Coker just saying that for PR? There is too much drama around this. All jokes aside, we still have a solid team and a real shot at winning.
Of course, he and everybody else will want to participate when it comes to the US again. The whole MXoN support from the US needs to totally be reworked. Funding needs to be in place to help support the teams with travel. Most importantly Teams and riders need to show support early on not this last-minute crap we have had for years. Or if you aren't going to support it and it's obvious there are those who don't that's fine. Stand up and let it be known early on and don't turn it all into unneeded drama. between last year and this year, it's blatantly obvious that there is weak support. It's quite embarrassing in comparison the other countries that put effort into it.
