Building a short bed 85 LS10 just somthing to get to the lumber yard, and back quick. Watched this vid just wanted to see a quick way to remove wheel cyl. Just use some 3" corse wood screw it allows you to use a phillips screw driver to push in and release clip takes about 10 seconds
This is the EXACT same truck my daughter just bought! Rear brakes were super grabby. Swapping out the cylinders now. Trying to fit the chore in between work and my daughter's procrastination.
@Dented Fender Garage Getting parts at a little parts shop here in Washington State called Cost Less Auto Parts. They are also very knowledgeable with older vehicles. I don't know if they have stores elsewhere, though.
I just replaced a leaking wheel cylinder like this today, on another 1985 S10. I pried the old clip off with a nail. Then I pressed the new clip on the new cylinder with two stubby flat-blade screwdrivers, one on each side, while holding the cylinder in place with a piece of wood. (They recommend the piece of wood in the service manual.) It's not really that hard. It's all in picking the right tools.
theres a better way guys. they make a tool just for this but can't remember the name. But l did this job tonight on 84 s10 had clip out ln 2 mins. you can put back on just as easy. check parts house, good luck, Bob.

Would’ve been nice to know. Oh well, it was a great truck, sold it a couple years ago.

I got some death wobble up around 85kph that I need to figure out so watch for that. Where did you source your parts?

Help you save time next time I used a durable screw to pry it off
It’ll be easier next time since I sold the truck a month ago. 😂

Drum brakes make you feel like your dog just died. See 10:53 for reference.
At least the background track I made for this is dope. Haha
What size line wrenches did you use?
Honestly can’t remember.
I just did my brake shoes. What a pain. Looks like I have to replace the wheel cylinders too because of rust.
Not looking forward to it
GM has some of the sorriest examples of engineering. I wouldn't hire a GM engineer to build a wagon. Get an S-10 and you will know what I mean.
That's a line wrench.
Flat head screwdriver

I’d search for this tool, but I’ll be selling the S-10 soon.
