So this will cost $125/month to add this feature to F360? I know it's free access for limited time, but how long is limited. Thanks for adding this much needed and long overdue feature! I just hope I'll be able to afford it after the free trial period. Great video and tutorial!!

This should be required viewing for anyone's first attempt at 4th axis CAM. Comes with a Robert Krulwich vibe, too.

Great video! I really, really want to try this but I'm afraid that, as a hobbyist, once it is out of preview I won't be able to afford it.

    1500 a year...for a partially complete extension...I don't think so

Glad this capability has made it into the product! As of this writing, 5/13/20, there are a few bugs present. And many features are incomplete - for example the toolpath trimming - obviously when there is no edit capability or even removal feature it's of limited usefulness. I'm confident these features are coming. Thanks for the video tutorial.

I purchased Fusion 360 to be able to use "5-axis" machining promised by the sales agent, however in order to mill a square block of wood into a cylinder on a 4th axis, I need to upgrade to "advanced" $1600/yr "Machining extensions" to access the Rotary features? This make absolutely no sense, as there is nothing "Advanced" in turning a square object into a round one using the rotary axis and I have yet to find a tool that natively will cut square stock rotating on the 4th axis.

I'm having trouble with setting up the origin in rotary.

I'm new to this. How is roughing done? For a large stock cylinder and parts with small radius sections, it seems like the cut will be too deep. Especially in the first part of the spiral. It seems the tool is plunged to full depth and the rotation begins. This might be fine after the first rotation, but the first rotation is using the full width of the cutter, right? Seems harsh. Am I missing something?

Disappointing that this was taken out of the basic paid application albeit a hidden feature it was the ONLY one I used.

Hello, I just watched your tutorial as Im trying to set up my home made plasma cutter. So far I've cut squares and circles using Fusion 360 plasma cutting tool paths. I was impressed way more than my wife at my squares and circles :) I thought I'd try set up my 4th axis and do a rotary cut, thus I watched your video. I clicked on the multi-axis and found I couldnt use it without a license or using some of my 100 credits I just discovered I had. So I thought I'd ask here. Is the rotary axis tool functional for plasma cutting or just milling? Perhaps you could do a video on creating a tool path for cutting squares and circles in a pipe?

I like the basic way you explained all of this operation however I have a question about 4th axis. I have just purchased a small cnc 3040, and can not get fusion 360 to use the 4th axis (A) to rotate the job around. I am trying for the first time to machine a 45mm Diameter piece of timber down to 12mm. Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you help me friend? My milling simulation is not showing the material removed, only the cutter around the model. Does not show the initial cylinder.

This seems to ignore the very real need to do roughing operations, and doesn't show how to use square stock (which seems to be impossible).

Damn these extensions. Not much point watching this, as I'm not about to spend $1500 a year for the privilege. We amateurs are getting bummed over here. Perhaps we are just spoiled with all the riches we have enjoyed recently from the Fusion team but this is a very disappointing direction.

You can have a free 7 day trial, buy a day's access for $25 or a month for $200 in addition to the annual subscription. I run a CNC Machine Shop and I pay the $1500 because we do a lot of 5 axis milling and our lathes have live tools. The first day I used Steep and Shallow it paid for itself before lunchtime.

I am a bit confused... Will I not be able to use my rotary if I don't have the Manufacturing Extension? I'm on the regular yearly plan (not sure if it has a name, it just said "Buy Fusion 360").
I haven't looked into anything regarding CNC'ing and toolpaths yet, or the manufacturing workspace at all actually (haven't assembled my cnc & rotary). But everybody talks about the Manufacturing Extension in any video I could find about rotary, which I checked and it's crazy expensive, just to do a table leg or something like that.
Will I not be able to do anything with Fusion for the rotary, just having the regular Fusion 360 subscription?

$1600 for multi-axis after $550 a year. I’ll buy a different product, good tutorial though.
