I remember watching this in the 70’s in the early days of BBC 2.

Yes, me too, as a schoolboy, these Trade Test Transmissions were primarily broadcast to demonstrate the beauty of Colour TV because during business hours there was little for the prospective customers to see other than the testcard.

Magnificent. Memories of this as a kid, and the brilliant music score.

Must've watched this fifty times back in the early 1970s on BBC2. Funny how I half-recall certain bits but others not at all.

One can see the inspiration here, behind films such as 'Koyaansqatsi'.

I remember this and most of the TT films used to promote colour TVs in showrooms when most of the channels were in black and white and there was little daytime TV anyway. One of my favourites which I have never found on YT is 'Faces of Australia' (most of which I have on audio tape along with The Cattle Carters and Cantagallo !). It would be wonderful to see 'Faces' again - any possibility to upload from your "video mine" ?!! In the meantime thank you for those you have already shared.

@@ttf2011 You don't need to upload The Cattle Carters or Cantagallo - they are both available on the BP Video Library website - you simply need to obtain a password which they will give you on application (see : www.bpvideolibrary.com). Thanks for thinking of them though and it is wonderful to see them again. My brother and I still quote from these films - especially "We like to drink our beer - not shave in it!" from TCC and "Franco!" "Maria!" from Cantagallo. So 'Faces of Australia' remains elusive but again we still quote from it : "Dawn. Time for the hunt to begin." along with the song "So come on you Aussie horsemen let everybody know you've still got time to enter in Mount Isa's Rodeo !"
