- One thing I love about Bulgarian cuisine is the fact people still enjoy all of what nature offers and enjoying nutritious organ meat is just as common as standard cuts. Liver, heart & even the tongue are popular dishes here. Me and my Bulgarian friend Marin went on a little exploration adventure in Teteven, Bulgaria and ate some €2 chicken hearts and an incredible selection of local food. Absolutely incredible! Total price for the meal came to around €10.

Well watch out in Cherni Vit. There are brown bears! If you have time, you must visit Glojenski monastery. It is 1000 metres above sea, compare to it The Meteor in Greece is around 600 metres above sea.

Watching you guys treat yourself on such great dishes, while i'm hungry as wolf is a masochistic thing ;) never been to Teteven as well. Again, why do i need a British man showing me my country ?! ... i feel lazy and stupid :) j.k. mate i'm grateful you make those now i have a list of wonderful places to check out.
Oh, oh, also, if you are still in that region - there is this restaurant called Комплекс Добревски just next to the village of Български Извор. The food there is just another level with great prices. There is also a store where you can buy local food like суджук, локум, пектин and so on. Have it in mind if you pass there one day.
In this region the traditional alcoholic drink is rakia made from plums. The nearby Cherni Vit village is famous for its green cheese, which is unique in the world and difficult to find. Teteven also has great river fish and a traditional fish soup. The Central Balkan mountains are great for hiking and mountain biking.

Great Find Jamal, there is not much better than eating fresh ingredients from no doubt a local grower & the price is amazing
When I was in London had friends there and in one Brazilian restaurant was offered chicken hearts on bbq they was disgusted 😁 but in Bulgaria its ok to eat chicken hearts, livers.. 😄
