    Im currently studying in Scotland. I do not know if this trend will remain over the years, but I've yet to meet a colleague here that intends on settling outside of Bulgaria. All of us so far are going out with the intentions of returning home in the coming years. I hope this remains true as time passes. There might be more money here but its really depressing for a Southerner.

    This is essentially what my mother did when we left Bulgaria in 94. She is very well educated, was quite successful in Varna, she was an exec director at Golden Sands resort in the early 90s, but we moved to Toronto anyways. She had to re-educate here and also work mediocre jobs to get by. I was 11 when we left BG, 37 now and would really like to return.

    I am coming back next year to Bulgaria. Going to work on my own software startup.
    Soviet Union didn't die for Bulgaria, they died for supremacy over the Balkan region, Bulgaria was just their first stepping stone.

    You do understand due to the political situation that a ton of people will emigrate once more. Also the EU clearly does not care, so what choice do we have in bulk?

    • @aleksandra5623
      @aleksandra5623 4 года назад +6

      Victor Bonchevski to stay home and work for a better future for our country :) Our problem is that we are always waiting for someone to help us/save us. And what if the EU doesn’t care? Aren’t we enough to change everything? I was living abroad and I came back here because this is my country and wherever I go it just doesn’t feel the same as here. I believe we can change everything and money are not everything. Успех! :)

      The choice is not a bulk choice. It's on an individual level...Everyone has to be stoic and understand that only when we (people living in a region) work hard on ourselves and better the small local community can we prosper without relying on the EU or government. Self-education on a small scale and not giving up is the key to success here (in my humble opinion). I'd like to stay positive and remember that many people are returning (and foreigners investing/joining).

      Yah sure @Alexx994 and @Jamal, that's great and all but it's just in theory. In practice the individual's motivation and morals do not comply to the base requirements for that to work. I'm totally for it to staying if we can see an effect even a small one. However I'm not seeing much in the past 2 almost 3 years since I'm back. Yeah I do have a middle-upper income and things are fine for me individually, but when it comes to relying on things provided by the govt , necessities such as education, health care, day care for children - I'm not quite sure I can say without any doubt that any of these remotely come close to be "working" not even "W.." , so that's one reason people would most likely want to go or are actually going. I mean it's great and all staying, thinking you have a purpose, and even actually having one but in the end as we see 30+ years no matter your effort the situation stays almost the same with minimal cosmetic changes not just politically but socially.

      @@ChadandJamal I would agree if it were true in the bigger picture. Investors as you say don't really invest here in the way we're told, nor the way media portrais it. Most "investors" know we're just cheap educated labour. Take a look at how most of our IT & Software minds are outsourced. I respect you Jamal and your purpose and mission here. I just do not agree with it being as simple as that. I mean yes it is in a way, but in practice it's not as achievable as you'd say or think. The main problem is fundamental and probably not going to be fixed for a long time. So in my case staying and trying to fix something as an individual - call me selfish if you want , when little to no results are seen even on smaller scales is absurd. Thus I for one might be one of the people looking for a better future somewhere else. Also the EUC is supposed to track for the atrocities that are being commited in the world of "law" if there is one at all here, but yet they're not. Sorry for the political aftertaste this might leave.

      @@victorbonchevski2949 I am sorry but I can't agree. People here want the same education, healthcare and etc. as countries where the personal income tax rate is more than 50% while in our country it is 10%. Moreover, I have been living in Spain and there, because you've mentioned education, during this COVID situation, the government bought tablets, which students had to use but actually people found out that are not working so they had to be teachers for their children for few months. In addition, if you need a doctor in Spain, yes it is free (let's not forget the tax rate, which is around 45%), but meanwhile, if anytime I needed some kind of doctor I had to wait for at least 1 month to get an appointment. If you want to pay, of course, there's no problem and the doctor will check you immediately. Furthermore, bills there are extremely high or for example internet 75mb + TV is around 50-60 euro and here for 75mb internet + TV I pay around 11 euro. In the professional area in which I work, I can guarantee that salaries in Spain compared to salaries here are almost the same because I've worked at both places. Yes, they have 4% VAT on food but meanwhile you will always pay 30-40 euro for water for one person living alone nevertheless how much you have used because their taxes are huge compared to ours. I really don't know for which countries you talk about but almost everywhere in Europe taxes are higher. I am talking about Spain because of my own experience and because it is one of the countries from Western Europe. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Have a nice evening and stay safe!

    This is not a Soviet monument. Bulgaria was never part of the Soviet Union and it time to stop perpetuating this false notion. This monument was dedicated to the liberation struggles of the Bulgarians against the Turks which took place mostly in the Balkan Mountains. they added figures of Soviet soldiers to it but this is not the primary purpose of this monument, which was built one the most important Roman roads and pases in this part of world, the Trajan pass. there are many ruins of Ronan fortresses along the way. I personally find it a bit insulting to call this a Soviet monument. I find its nickname, the pantyhose, more appropriate! 😃

    • @varsam
      @varsam 4 года назад

      At last someone whit reason, but little corection, if you look closer to the soldiers u can see 2 woman. On the outher side there are 4 more and they got kalpak. So they are bulgarian soldiers or russian, noting to do whit soviet uniforms. But offc the first idea will be soviet propaganda, soviet soldiers from 1945... when the monument got hudge date on it(1878).

    Hello Jamal. Hey, I can not say that I am not enjoying your videos and you promoting Bulgaria, for which I can only congratulate you, however and especially because of your not well educated Bulgarian friend, I also can not but mention the ridiculous and wrong information that you're basically spreading around. I have seen a bunch of your videos and as much as I like them, I am really against talking crap about this or that in Bulgaria. Regardless if it comes from a well motivated foreigner or a local bulgarian who tries to sound well educated. The latter is actually even worse! So please when you talk about monuments of places or facts, the least you can do is open Google and find some legit info. Not to mention that even Google is not the definitive source of information about everything. Again, I am very happy that you're filming and showing everyone all these nice places and also that you enjoy seeing them yourself, but when you say stuff and not even read the signs, it just sounds pretty lame man. Please when you're talking about different topics try to be as correct as possible and tell this to to your friend as well. For example Beklemeto is by far not the highest mountain pass on the Balkan peninsula as well as on the Arch of Freedom there are no dates but simply the years 1878 and 1944. You tried to correct the incorrect facts, but still, next time just try not to spread fake info. Your videos (and your attitude) are very positive and people watch them, and it would be great if they are factually correct. Please have in mind, that even if this comment sounds negative, it is not meant to be. Take care and keep enjoying Bulgaria.
