Speaks volumes about your relationship with your parents/family that you're comfortable staying there as a 20 something year old and improving your room to KEEP living there. Most people can't wait to move out and even though they make a lot less than you, gladly pay rent to have the freedom to live their lives as they chose. The fact your parents respect you as an adult (or don't and you don't care) so you can live the life you want while under their roof is actually really nice to see as the mom of a daughter.

I would hope that anyone of the others here without riches from their parents could inspire you in so many ways. Building a pink room from your parent's money does not a hero make. I don't live with my parents but I will never understand those people who asks questions about someone's life like it's their business or like they have any authority/ claim to their lives. Like those people who ask "why are you still living with your parents" "why aren't you married" "why don't you have children yet" "why don't you have a job" ...... do they actually expect answers? And then they try to pretend that it's just a question that they are curious about and they mean nothing of it 😂
a lot of people who ask that are just questioning your ability to live independently. there’s statistical evidence that people who move out by 19 do better in life. so, when people ask that, they may just even be concerned at a clear dependency on your parents. and the reason they expect answers is because it makes sense to better yourself in a situation where you have the opportunity to do so by living on your own. for the other ones, (besides the job one, that’s something pretty much nobody should have any excuses for unless there is a disability, a bad situation, etc) they are kind of stupid questions. but when people ask about why you live with your parents, they’re probably not trying to make you look bad

I just turned 24 in august and this past march (while i was 23) I moved out of my parents home and rented in Atlanta (also an expensive city) and I love the freedom but I am saving basically nothing so after my lease is up I will be moving back in with my parents to save money for the same reasons! Its not a bad decision it is a smart decision!
I 100% agree! I am saying I regret that I moved out of my parents because the money is basically going no where. I am solely paying for freedom and Id rather live with my parents and respect their rules and save that $850 a month towards a home of my own than to just do whatever I want.It is a very smart and wise decision to stay with your parents for as long as you can. I'm Indian so in my background it's a cultural thing to stay with your parents unless your married . Yeah! On freddy's videos, I always see a lot of criticism on her living with her parents. What's wrong with living with your parents until you are financially stable and/ or feel more comfortable/ safe living with your family instead of alone if you are a single person? I guess people just like to put others down over small things, and then they say stuff like "You are meant to move out to become independent", and I'm here thinking "You'll have a few decades to move out and be independent, so chill with all the judgmental and patronising comments". I am 23, and just graduated last year, and I have been applying for jobs non-stop with no success since. How on earth am I meant to afford moving out just for the sake of pleasing certain sections of society who believe I am an adult so shouldn't be living with my parents anymore? The answer to that is: by ignoring all practicality in relation to financial feasibility just to avoid judgments of people I don't know or care about. The moment I bag a full-time job, I would love to contribute to my parent's household expenses to be able to feel like a responsible adult, whilst saving money for my own home and future independence, but sadly a jobless person like myself can't do that right now and hence living with my family is the most practical option that nobody needs to feel ashamed of.

I would hope that anyone of the others here without riches from their parents could inspire you in so many ways. Building a pink room from your parent's money does not a hero make. It is the people fighting for more than trivial pink rooms, needing heat, roofs, flooring, bathrooms, just basic needs besides a pretty wealthy pink bedroom with many wealthy clothes to adorn it would be more important than those ugly pink walls and sheets. I don't live with my parents but I will never understand those people who asks questions about someone's life like it's their business or like they have any authority/ claim to their lives. Like those people who ask "why are you still living with your parents" "why aren't you married" "why don't you have children yet" "why don't you have a job" ...... do they actually expect answers? And then they try to pretend that it's just a question that they are curious about and they mean nothing of it 😂
a lot of people who ask that are just questioning your ability to live independently. there’s statistical evidence that people who move out by 19 do better in life. so, when people ask that, they may just even be concerned at a clear dependency on your parents. and the reason they expect answers is because it makes sense to better yourself in a situation where you have the opportunity to do so by living on your own. for the other ones, (besides the job one, that’s something pretty much nobody should have any excuses for unless there is a disability, a bad situation, etc) they are kind of stupid questions. but when people ask about why you live with your parents, they’re probably not trying to make you look bad

I just turned 24 in august and this past march (while i was 23) I moved out of my parents home and rented in Atlanta (also an expensive city) and I love the freedom but I am saving basically nothing so after my lease is up I will be moving back in with my parents to save money for the same reasons! Its not a bad decision it is a smart decision!
I 100% agree! I am saying I regret that I moved out of my parents because the money is basically going no where. I am solely paying for freedom and Id rather live with my parents and respect their rules and save that $850 a month towards a home of my own than to just do whatever I want.It is a very smart and wise decision to stay with your parents for as long as you can. ESPECIALLY if you live in an expensive city

I don't get why some people have a problem if your living with your family. Everyone have different reasons. I'm Indian so in my background it's a cultural thing to stay with your parents unless your married . But even if that wasn't a reason I don't think it's wrong you could be living with your parents and still help them financially or just around the house etc . Yeah! On freddy's videos, I always see a lot of criticism on her living with her parents. What's wrong with living with your parents until you are financially stable and/ or feel more comfortable/ safe living with your family instead of alone if you are a single person? I guess people just like to put others down over small things, and then they say stuff like "You are meant to move out to become independent", and I'm here thinking "You'll have a few decades to move out and be independent, so chill with all the judgmental and patronising comments". I am 23, and just graduated last year, and I have been applying for jobs non-stop with no success since.
How on earth am I meant to afford moving out just for the sake of pleasing certain sections of society who believe I am an adult so shouldn't be living with my parents anymore? The answer to that is: by ignoring all practicality in relation to financial feasibility just to avoid judgments of people I don't know or care about.
The moment I bag a full-time job, I would love to contribute to my parent's household expenses to be able to feel like a responsible adult, whilst saving money for my own home and future independence, but sadly a jobless person like myself can't do that right now and hence living with my family is the most practical option that nobody needs to feel ashamed of.
It’s the same in Hispanic culture. If anything Hispanic parents ENCOURAGE you to stay living with them, there’s never any rush or pressure to live on your own 🤷🏻♀️
Yes. In Spain it's quite common to live with your parents until you have a couple or you marry. I moved out at 26 and that was only because I went abroad for work.

I totally agree with you. I am 22 and live in London. I currently live with my parents. I do pay them rent but it's nothing compared to rent in a London flat or house share. London is crazy expensive
