Testimonial: As a hoarder, I have always had to spend a lot of time shopping for all the things I didn't need, which I could then stash around my house. Now, with Bespoke Post, I don't have to do that. The unneeded and redundant knives and other gear just show up at my doorstep. Great progress.

I had this same Dodge Van my senior year of high school (class of 1990) I drove with a suspended license the entire year. That van was called the Roach Motel. I was a drummer and I played in a punk band which meant all the equipment would end up in my van and it would be me alone to unload it all. That van would never quit and I abused it.

A good friend of mine who runs an over cab truck which has really, really small space between the cab and the engine, blocked the sides with a rubber skirt like piece, and made a passage from the from to the back, then put a medium sized 12v extractor fan (the ones you see on moving kitchens). A bit noisy, but it works, his temps are really decent as long as the fan runs.

15:42 when he said that, my mind IMMEDIATELY went back to that one Mythbusters episode where Adam Savage DID lose an eyebrow (and a pretty good chunk of his hair) from a small scale test about the effects of static electricity and the use of cell phones while refueling.

Surely ( if he can fit you in) a trip to Gainesville, and KSR would be in order to get the Holley in top order before the big run.

A day at the dyno won't hurt...right? Adjust the tune for drivability on the road afterwards. Does it really make 700 HP and some, can turn it down when needed, have a few base maps for power levels (since this is N/A without turbo boost control to do the same) and the added insurance that it has been tuned perfectly well! No compromises!

Suspension is concerning for a fast run but the rest is an A1 setup. Surely most cops are going to know this van and it's age will make it stick out.
John, Ed & Travis will need help on the way to make it without spending hours explaining their 100MPH Ambulance to highway cops.
Maybe just cruise the risky areas, run it up under the open skies and get it there with a respectable late 1970's time. Mission to complete accomplished. Cheers 🇨🇦

I knew EXACTLY what that van was when I saw the thumbnail. I'm 39 and Cannonball Run (which was made 3 years before I was born) is still among my favorite movies ever. Dom DeLuise and Burt Reynolds, Brock Yates, Roger Moore, Jamie Farr, Farrah Fawcett, Sammy Davis Jr, Jackie Chan, Peter Fonda, Marilu Henner, (Telly Savalas, Tony Danza, and Don Knotts were also in the sequel) Terry Bradshaw, Molly Picon, an absolute star packed movie of its day. JJ McClure owning a Land, Air, Sea speed shop, I always wondered what that Dodge van had under the hood, but I always imagined it would've been a 440 with a 727 behind it.

You young guys never learn! Never drive without a plate on your car! Just stick a plate from your car that you drove to the shop! If you get stopped and they run the plate and tell you it's the wrong one you look at them really sincerely and say ''But officer, It has to be the right plate it fit right on it!!'' Every time I've said that they start to explain and then just shake their head and say ''Just get this thing registered the first chance you get!'' and walk off!
