This is my go-to camera setup for client shoots - the Fujifilm X-H2s paired with the Tamron 17-70 f2.8 lens. As a professional photographer, having gear that streamlines your workflow is essential. The X-H2s has become my trusted companion, offering seamless transitions between photo and video settings, making my client shoots more efficient and productive.
This camera setup boasts a 26-megapixel stacked sensor, delivering impressive image quality and vibrant colors, perfect for both photography and video work. With minimal rolling shutter in video, dual card slots, weather sealing, and updated autofocus, it's the ultimate tool for my photography needs.
My lens of choice, the Tamron 17-70 f2.8 VC, covers a versatile range with a constant f2.8 aperture, complementing the X-H2s perfectly. The optical image stabilization (VC) in the lens, combined with the in-body image stabilization (IBIS) of the X-H2s, results in stable and handheld video capture, reducing the need for a gimbal.
Join me as I discuss the advantages of this camera setup, share insights into its performance, and explore how it has significantly improved my client work. If you're looking for a reliable and efficient camera system, this could be the solution you've been searching for.

Torn between this and the sigma 18-50mm for event video work and this video is now pushing me back to the Tamron side. I have the XH2! Great vid.

Both are great, I did events either both and depends if you want a lighter setup or more reach. You already have IBIS with the xh2 so the stabilisation does not play a big part in it

I have the exact same setup. The full frame “look” ain’t all that bad. Unfortunately people take me more seriously when the lens/body combo is bigger, honestly.

@@kriscamp608 yeah I don't really mind the size, especially since it works so well.

can you do me a favor because I'm having a hard time choosing between sigma 18-50 and the tamron. I saw a lot of videos saying that the tamron keeps hunting while shooting videos, the same thing applies with my colleagues as they also experienced that while filming or doing commercial stuff.
What about your experience using this lens especially in filming?

Generally it's great, when it locks focus I newer saw it hunting (with eye af, on talking head videos and stuff like that) but sometimes when shooting on a gimbas, if there is no clear subject (maybe when doing some details of cars and stuff like that) it can hunt a little bit. But I never had any major issues with autofocus on this lens. I have used it on my X-H2s 90% on the time. On my X-T3 only for locked off tripod shots, and it never had issues the few times I used it with the X-T3.
I think it ends up being a Fufijilm AF thing more than the lens
