Welcome to the latest video for @KhonKaenDen. In this video, I felt a little under the weather today, so I drove around the outskirts of Khon Kaen, Thailand, in an area I haven't been to before. Thanks for watching and don't forget to like, comment and subscribe! Happy birthday, Khon Kaen!!! Cheers, Den.
Cheers. Yeah, I have to think long and hard about the music as it can make or break the footage. I love driving where others never bother filming and will be doing maybe one a week or so as part of my daily vids. Thanks again, Den.
Cool. If you do, I think you are going to love it here! Maybe just stay in a hotel/room for a few months to make sure it is the place for you! Cheers, Den.
@@KhonKaenDen yes love KK, awesome city. I built a house just outside Chumphae with the plan to turn it into an English school 1 day. Essentially the loungeroom was built big enough to comfortably sit 50 people. Hopefully 1 day I'll make the big move!
Im visiting in two weeks time for a day or two. Looking to get to know the different areas of the city a little better for a possible relocation. Wife’s cousin is basically our daughter and is applying for university studies there. Any tips on what to see / where to visit would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. To be honest, Khon Kaen is just a normal Thai city and there aren't really any "attractions" so to speak. Khon Kaen University is a great place to visit (lots to see and it is a massive place). There's also Ton Tan Market (open each evening), Walking Street Market (open Saturdays), Bueng Kaennakorn (the large lake) has a few nice restaurants etc. around it and it is a nice walk. If you Find Ad Lib Hotel (well worth a visit to the top to see a spectacular view of Khon Kaen) and Pullman, around that area (the main bit for foreigners), there are a few foreign bars and restaurants. Central Plaza of course is worth a visit (cinema, shopping, Topps Supermarket at the bottom). If you want to travel a little, there are a few places but I think you will find enough in Khon Kaen city. If you skim through my videos, you will find a lot on there (most have locations in the description). Hope this helps, Den.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. Looking forward to visiting. I hear there is an area where farangs live, close to the university. Is this Pullman?
I don’t know if it could be interesting to mention what erea you are visiting. Direction Kalasin or Chumpea or Korat or the northside. Maybe not for this video but it is always nice if I can identify myself with the location. Phra Yuen or Ban Thum or Ta Phra is well known by myself but north and east of Khon Kaen is really unknown by myself. It is just an idea. For sure, people looking your video from another province don’t care where exactly you are situated.
Very good idea, Hans! Never thought of it that way. I will start adding the locations (or as best as I can do as sometimes I simply drive around without any direction until I fall upon something. This area, by the way, was the outskirts Muang Kao (the old city). Cheers, Den.
Hi, Dave. Khon Kaen is a great place but very, very quiet compared to places like Bangkok and Pattaya. It's also about 450 kms from the sea so certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea so to speak but I love the place (been here 20 years). It does have some bars (mainly foreign bars) and plenty of nightclubs for Thais (but many foreigners go too). In terms of attractions, there aren't that many, really. It is a typical Thai city (which is why I like it). It is also a university city and if you are young, there are thousands of beautiful young ladies. Also, there is Udon Thani only 1.5 hours away and that has quite a lot going on. Hope this helps. Cheers, Den.
@@KhonKaenDen cheers den yes plenty info 👍i can see why he goes there it seems really good place to go chill and do a bit of this an that lol 😁maybe il vist 1 day on my list of things to do before I'm to old 👍
Haha... you are probably right but I love abandoned buildings. Don't know why. Actually... wait until my next video (out shortly)... I hope you like it. And I didn't smell anything bad this time haha. Cheers, Den.
It`s quite refreshing just driving around at rural areas, I`ve done that a lot, just to clear my head. When the world hits me with a bat, that has been my escape. I believe I`ve solved a lot of world problems during these escapes too. You guys might do that from a bar stool.. Not judging 😄 Every problem has a solution, I was once told. Tell that to our world leaders.. Anyway, that`s why this trip seemed so familiar in a way. Been (not quite) there, (but) done that 😊😊
Couldn't agree with you more, Sarlina. At least once or twice a week, I will have no plan whatsoever. I just get in the car and start driving. If my mind says go left, I go right and so on until I find something of interest. Don't always find something but I love the drives anyway. And yeah, the alternative is often the bar (which I aim NOT to do). I will be doing many others like this as part of my daily vids (maybe 1 a week) as there is no telling where I will end up! Take care and have a great weekend. Oh, you might like the next video out this evening (my time). It is typical Khon Kaen madness haha... watch this space. Take care, Den.

Den, loved the crusing music for this vid and cool to see life outside the main city. Good riding music, mate. Well done.

TY, Keep em comming!
Thank you so much! I have one on a beautiful rural road coming soon. Many thanks, Den.
Like the music you have used
Thanks Paul. Yeah, I think carefully about the music... it makes or breaks the video for me. I think we must have similar tastes! Cheers, Den.
Considering moving to KK. Great city

Not sure I'd go creeping around in those old buildings. If you ever smell anything bad I suggest don't enter 😮
