Omg 😳 thank you your video is by far the most helpful. I don't get to use my portrait 3 very often so I always rewatch this video it helps. Also have 3 kiddos at home.
Thank you so much for sharing. I just got one for Christmas and I am not too skilled with computers so I have no clue what I’m doing. I’m into RC cars and I will use the heck out of this cutter when I learn how to use it. You made very easy to understand, I subscribed I am looking forward to your new videos and I’ll be looking for past videos to learn more. Thank you once again and God bless.
Thanks a lot for sharing, this is super helpful! I want to cut my first vinyl decal today and was looking for a step-by-step for the P2. Thank you again :)
Many thanks for this...you are so clear and I now understand how to do it correctly. Just got my machine. Hoping you have more stuff I can make . Stay safe xx
Excellent video. You moved slow enough that I could follow all your clicks. I watched a video the other day that we had to slow down so much that we could barely follow the words just to see what they were selecting.
Super informative - thank you! A really silly question I'm sure but how did you stick your vinyl sheet to the cutting mat? I can't get mine to stay on, causing the vinyl to move and cut randomly!!
It's hard to find a recent video on RUclips for the silhouette so I'm glad to find yours! I have a question that I cannot find an answer for. My portrait running 4.3.471ss is choosing to cut the same images twice while only cutting the other images on the sheet once, which is what I want. How do I tell the program to stop butchering those duplicate images and only cut once?
great video! My issue is how do I tell the machine not to look for registration marks? I keep getting the registration failed message, but I don't need registration marks.
The amazon listing for this cutter has a lot of people complaining about it not being able to cut things very well... In your opinion, would that be user error, and if so, do you have any tips to make sure it cuts properly?
Hi there, I just got a Potrait 2 but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to print a large decal without the mat! Do you think you could do a video showing us how? Thank you so much
Hi can we use this machine to print stickers through inkjet printers and just cut out sticker paper outlines for simple stickers . Im new to this 😅 thanks
Hi! This specific machine does not cut through thicker plastics but silhouette does have a version called the Curio and that one cuts through thicker material and they use the same program
Donna Watkins try acetate, I have some that I bought from the art supply store... it is about as thick as card stock or vinyl, but it is more rigid... you should definitely be able to make a reusable stencil with it!
8:05-8:10 / Doesn't show removing the decal paper from the sticky cutting matte. My machine cut through the film AND backing paper which means the cut out sections stay stuck to the matte when the sheet is pulled off.
They're both great machines and work exactly the same.. the only difference is the size and price... if you want to do bigger projects, go for the cameo.. if for smaller projects, the portrait is better to get. And the cameo is about $100 more than the portrait 😁
I've been ask this question before and I realized that not many people know that there's a clear sheet on the mat that you're supposed to peel off and it reveals the adhesive part of the mat. It will be super sticky at first but through time, it won't be. If it's too sticky for you, you can take a cotton t-shirt and dab it on there a few times to make it less sticky 🙂
@@Gunmetalpuppy13 thank you for replying. I have watched a lot of these videos. I have bought a silhouette 4 with auto blade. Just haven't used it yet. And in all those videos I have watched they never tell you this information and it bedazzled me on how its done. So thank you for relieving me of this curiosity.
Can you PLEASE do a print and cut video? Every video I find has a "load mat" button and mine doesn't have one. Also if you could show placement for the material on the mat and which line to use as a guide I'd appreciate it!
That's not a dumb question at all! I can see why you'd ask that question because Cricut can be run on a tablet but unfortunately Silhouette has an app but doesn't work that well...yet

I want to make cool designs where you can print a picture or a design instead of just using the Vinyl as a cut out.
