Still the best cover of this song on YT, and I became a Incognito fan thanks to this video. This girl plays everything with more conviction and rock solid time than 99% of the bass players out there. Still impressive 8 years later.

Incognito are such an underrated band - a major influence on later bands and offer a level of musical sophistication not really found elsewhere.
Bands such as Jamiroquai were heavily influenced by them.
Marta's rendition as always, is masterfully played here. To say she shows extreme talent for the bass is an understatement. 10/10.
If they had more songs like this.... Yes I'd be the first to agree. After listening to quite a few records unfortunatly I've been dissapointed. Maybe the change in musical personal may have been a factor. Does nothing for me.
Yeah and Brand New Heavies too! Jay Kay Auditioned for Brand New heavies...but he got rejected....then he formed his own band...

It's so refreshing to see people play bass and having fun! Some are just trying to show of how fast or crazy their technique is, which has very little to do with music if you ask me I think it's more important, enjoying the groove. You can hear that in the music! It's not a contest! -- 1980's rigged Music Man Sabre myself. :-)

do we see this from girls on every video of good-looking male players? No, we don't. Women are objectified far more than men. Now, this isn't to say I don't think Marta's attractive, but that's irrelevant. The one and only thing that matters here is that she's a kick-arse bassist. Unfortunately she's going to attract a lot more attention because of her looks compared to her playing, whereas if she could still play like that but was a bald bloke with a beer gut, zero attention, guaranteed. Why can't we all just focus on the playing?

As much as I heard, she's from Barcelona, her dad plays bass too!!! She toured South America with jamiroqui years ago! Heard she got married and lives in London! I miss seeing and hearing her too!!! She's great!!!

Aria Ghana I thought the same thing when I saw Marta for the first time, about three videos ago. Ha! To truly 'dislike' something that is unquestionably this well done is baffling to me. Not someone's proverbial 'cup of tea'? Undoubtedly that will be the case on occasion, so the unfavorably impressed should simply pass it by and shut up.
Unbridled idiocy and such have a place at the Internet whipping post, but that's not applicable to something like this which, as I said, speaks so broadly to so many as an excellent bit of work. Assholes. They're everywhere. ; ]
***** You should check out her other video on Jamiroquai - Time Won't Wait, which is actually my no.1 favorite of hers. A better acid jazz track than this track IMO. The chords and tempo are insane and she nailed it Over 300 dislikes. hehe But, oh well... in both cases the dislike is less than 1% --- I guess less than 1% strangeness is kinda the norm on the internet :D

Marta, just listened to Incognito's version of Put a Little Lovin' in Your Heart; I love this band and their music and your choice of that music to cover, but, your interpretation and style adds so much to the groove! I have checked out some of the other versions you have covered and you always add something more that is so positive and spot-on funky! The kick and clarity of your playing is truly inspiring! Thanks again for your contribution, Marta! Play on! A technical question if you would: what amp do you use with the Stingray 5 Setup? Your sound is always clear and the attack is so balanced. Thanks again and I would understand if you don't wish to comment.
