Please make sure prior to drilling that your camper doesn’t have a water line where the steps install! We found out the hard way!😢

      Thanks,
      Went pretty smooth for me.
Not like the suspension install I did.

I’m installing the same set of steps but having trouble with my doors closing when the steps are down.
The screen door binds on the threshold cover of the new steps and I’m unable to use the steps in a level
Position just a nose down position. I’m not sure if the threshold plate is bent ,like some of the other parts
of the steps were out of the box, or just what the problem is. My camper door is the same as yours. HELP!

      Henry
Do not try to install the threshold cover you removed over top of the step plate like some of the videos show. I tried and the door would not clear.
When I installed my steps I made sure the steps were level and pushed them against the outside edge so the lip of the step was flush with the outside of the door frame.
I then put two screws in the plate one on each outside slot and put the steps up to make sure the door closed. My mounting plate if you look from the inside of the trailer is around 1/4 inch from the aluminum door frame.
      Hope this helps.

Lippert says that these have a reach of 28 inches to level ground. Did you find that to be the case on your steps? I am purchasing the same steps but I want to be sure it works. My distance to level ground is exactly 28 inches.

Sorry but I'm not able to answer.
Won't be back at the trailer for a couple weeks.
I would call Lippert they've always answered my questions about their products.

Will the Door & Screen close when the steps are down?

Absolutely, just make sure you adjust the legs accordingly to level steps if ground is uneven.

    Hi Keith,
I bought the Lippert stair set you just installed last fall and I'm just now getting around to installing them. Your video was exactly what I was looking for. One question - my stairs came with bolts that it appears I'm supposed to drill holes through the floor and us nuts and lock washers on the other side to secure them like you did with the screws. I like the screw option better. Were the screws you used a wood screw or a metal screw with a head for a socket that you can use to drill them into the floor? Also, would you know the size and length of the screws?
We're located in West Michigan and are also recently retired part-time seasonal rv'ers. Thanks for any help you can offer and have a great summer camping season.

      Dave
Our steps came with the screws they were #10 wood screws, 1/2 inch length. They anchored the steps securely.
Instructions say use 5/32 drill bit for pilot holes.
Bolts are used if you have a bad subfloor or a laminate floor.
Our floor is plywood covered by vinyl .
I also put a thin bead of silicone around where the threshold use to be.
      The steps have performed great.
      Thanks for watching the video.
We just put a new one out on dumping the tanks.
Two or three more to follow on our 3 week trip down south.
We are on Instagram now ( milesofsmilesrving )
and heading out west late august.
      Good luck with the steps.
If I can do it you can too.

@@milesofsmilesrving The step install went pretty smoothly. My old steps were mounted to the floor underneath the door and the bolts couldn't be removed without destroying the interior floor just inside the door. So, I cut the bolts at the the metal frame for the step and removed it leaving the frame still there. Also, I had to remove two connector bolts for the door closer mechanism that were connected at the bottom of the door. One was on the threshold and the other on the bottom of the door. My Dewalt oscillating tool with a metal blade did the trick. But, other than that it was a simple installation and what a difference it is from he old one step bouncy model it came with. Thanks again Keith for you video.

Glad it worked out for you David.
It is a little different install for some as not all doors are the same.
The steps make a huge difference.😊

Although this might be a great step, I ordered mine in February, and now it's June and they still haven't shipped mine. Keep getting the email saying next month, next month. I'm about done with Lippert!

      Wow!
Sorry to hear that. We got our step pre COVID. You should give them a call and see what's their excuse is.
They answered my call when I had an axel question.

@@SHRIMP11112 That's great. Unfortunately when I did get them 3 weeks ago the shipper smash part of them, so I had to contact Lippert to get a replacement set. Those finally arrived quickly as I guess they have stock on them now. Installed them and love them !
