    Watching from Alaska as I’m considering a Gregory! This was a thorough review and I appreciate it!

    I recently bought the Osprey Aether pro 70L but took one look inside and realised that fitting in all my cold weather gear would be next to impossible. Strongly considering this 75L pack in the medium for a 6000m peak in the Indian Himalayas. I'm looking to upgrade from an old and heavy, but rugged Lowe Alpine Cerro Torre- the front opening makes things much easier. Good review mate 👍
    I do wonder about the mesh on those shoulder straps and if you found that abrasive at all? I have another Lowe Alpine pack with a similar mesh on the padding and in a t-shirt I found it a little irritating on the shoulders. The sleeping bag compartment does look a little on the narrow side is my only other concern. Apparently fitting a -10°C bag in there is next to impossible.

      Thanks for the kind words man!
      Ohky let me start with the shoulder straps, i know what you mean with them as i also in the past had a similar situation but i honestly cannot say that these straps have been giving me any problems in that regard, i have spent long days on the mountains with a heavy pack and it is always comfortable to me.
      As to the sleeping bag compartment, i have a very old hollow fiber -1 bag thats quite bulky and with a bit of work (stuffing straps on the bag) i made it fit, it does then however take up the whole compartment fully
      I hope that helps and that you manage to get yourself the Gregory, its really a great pack in my opinion

    What would you say the biggest differences between the older baltoro and this one?

    • @ivansonnekus
      @ivansonnekus  Год назад +2

      There are a couple, so the hip belt design changed but it allowed for bigger pockets. Then the suspension system is totally different as well - and the way you adjust the size of the back. I would say those are the main factors.

      @@ivansonnekus I can buy the older version for 100$ less in a sale, would you say the price difference is worth the older one or do you think I should buy the newer one?

    • @ivansonnekus
      @ivansonnekus  Год назад +2

      Hmmm if the old one is your size and fits well then go for it, i enjoy the versatility of the back adjustment on the new one, as my old one didn't fit 110% but the old pack is still solid and well worth it

      Nothing, the older packs had that squeak
