one of the members of Oingo Boingo (Danny Elfman) spent a year traveling through Africa learning musical influences and then he joined his brothers band and they named themselves The Mystic Knights of The Oingo Boingo, they later shortened the name. Possibly during Danny’s travels thru Africa, he influenced the naming

I've been doing a tour of reaction vids to Oingo Boingo as I was the salt part of a salt ad pepper combo that cruisesd the streets of Vancouver, WA and graduated HS in 1985. we were both trumpet players (I sucked, he got a scholarship) and were disappointed in horn contributions to pop at the time. Listen to any Phil Collins song at the time and you'll understand. Elfman and Barteck the guitarist are laying the groundwork for over 100 soundtrack credits to date. check out their "" to watch these guys bang on xylophone creations of Elfman. Elfman at 18 toured Europe with his bro as part of a vaudeville act, then at 19 went through some African countries (No, Africa is not a country, for those that are confused by names of contents), but had to return to the US because he contracted malaria. He hooked back up with his bro to create his firs soundtrack in 2 weeks to which is a musical that has one character in blackface for about 30 seconds at the beginning of the film. other than that, a solid musical. off to my next stop!

Oingo Boingo!!! ❤❤ Once known as, The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, and an infamously funny comedy sketch on The Gong Show! Danny Elfman, member, leader, and all-around head guy, went on to top shelf fame later on. We here in Uncle Daniel's head are honored to partake of Oingo Boingo!!! ❤❤

this is a lovely relationship love song that is in a struggle. It's interesting that the 2nd to last stanza of lyrics when the lyrics say "We're on the healing path, we're on a rollercoaster ride that can never turn back" Here is where the live versions are different than this version. He turns the "you" responsibilities to "we". It's a great change. I have been doing reaction Oingo Boingo vids first impression all day, and I'm not done yet. I have a "canned" response I've been putting in after my first response because this ism favorite band from 1983 until now. I especially like looking at the comments from the GenZ or thereabouts folks, as I'v seen a few GenX fans who know their band history latch on to the song "Capitalism "and think that is the philosophy of the band when Elfman has said in many interviews that he encounters an idea or a person with certain ideals, empathizes with their world outlook and writes a song. You happen to encounter a later work that is relationship based. Great song, but their is a fascination with mortality as well as personal struggle in many of the lyrics of the band. Thanks for this. I'll post something out of order to this one that is a "cut and paste" comment as I continue my tour of response vids to my favorite band.
