- On June 13 I purchased the HNP Droid Gunship from my local game store. The following day, Atomic Mass Games announced they were ending support for X-Wing and Armada at Worlds next year.
That is not stopping me from buying as much X-Wing. I want to give it a proper send-off.
Hang tough and yeah feel the same , I hung in with 1.0 and was in Armada so I’m right there with you, sucks hard.
Similar situation here, but Im collecting my missing Imperial ships exclusively. I was fortunate to have bought an Assault Gunboat, a Tie Phantom and a TIE Reaper in 2018 when they were relatively cheap. The prices for these models are insane these days.
Luckily both the Gauntlet and Nantex are still relatively widely available.
There are lots of sales from retailers - keep your eyes peeled! There are lots of folks selling off their collections as well. Some are going for pennies on the dollar, some sellers are very motivated. Unfortunately, the longer you wait, the harder things will be to find.
Look for a Grand-Tournament to join! Not every region has one, but worth a look!
The game is only dead if you stop playing it! There is a global community forming up to work on what the game will look like in a post AMG era. Expect rules\format changes that appeal to a wider audience, some sort of structure for 'official' play.
Don’t let the news of AMGs dropping the game get you down. If you can find a good community that is local join up and have fun. The community is already working to make the game a lasting success for the foreseeable future. X Wing shall live on beyond everyone’s expectations.
