For those interested, we've listed the AI generators we researched in the description! 👆
(In this video, we compared AI pattern generators to non-AI tools like Repper. To keep it simple, we didn't dive into the specifics of each individual generator, but we may do this in a future video :-)

I am totally in love with Repper - and using it commercially - it’s literally “my style”!!
The only request I could possibly make is to add a percentage box for sizing repetition on the top next to the size slider - I need to be able to see that the repetition is exactly the same size as on the commercial product. ie. 25% or 12.5%.
I would even go as far to say I would pay even more for that feature!!
You have changed my life, and given me the opportunity to persue a business… thank you so much. 🙏

So happy to hear you love using Repper :) And thank you for your feedback. I am not sure if I fully understand your request, as the product previews aren't actual products. For example, the notebook is similar to notebooks in POD services, but not exactly (there are so many!). I recommend you look up the required dimensions and DPI for the actual product you'll be printing on, and then exporting as a surface with the repeat count exactly as you wish. This video has a look of great tips on such exporting: ruclips.net/video/AG4zqoBccQY/видео.html. If you misunderstood your request, please email us at support@repper.app and we can continue the conversation there :)

Yes I think we know it's not the actual product, but, nonetheless, it would be a useful feature to change the scale of the pattern on the preview page as it's very unlikely anyone would use the standard scale. If we can see what the pattern looks like on products at different scales, that is much more fun.@@repper

@@siffinleex Oh, now I get what you mean! Try using the zoom slider in the top bar. Just like it changes the pattern size in surface mode, so it does in 3D mode. I think this is what you're asking for? You can watch the tutorial video on 3D preview to see it in action: ruclips.net/video/nbYoO5LNDu4/видео.html

Actually I was very confused, I was thinking about patternedAI and their preview screen. They also have a slider I didn't notice >_< I've just found the 3d preview on repper, it's amazing!!!@@repper

I use repper to make patterns from the source picture for a cohesive look and colour hues. Also use the rectangle option to expand the source pattern after I have up scaled them. Repper gives me a polished and professional finish with a high dpi and large sizes to download. Can highly recommend Repper

Thanks for the kind words! Indeed, we didn't even mention that, but Repper is great for turning AI pattern tiles into any size surface, as well as demo'ing AI patterns on 3D product previews!

You guys are second to none... Making patterns with AI is disappointing. The only redeemable thing would be to take an AI image as a source and nothing else...
Instead, making patterns with Repper is exploring the dimensions of beauty from a little piece of image that sometimes is even simple, minimalist... and yet, we can produce something unrepeatable and beautiful. Besides, it's so relaxing! I can lose track of time, admiring the multiple combinations of colors and shapes.
Anyway... I am so happy with Repper that I paid for a year's membership, and I plan to renew it "Forever and ever, Amen"
    LOVE U 😍

Your comment made our day ☺ We are really happy that the design tool we made and keep developing is not just giving people new creative possibilities, but is also providing lots of joy and relaxation. We could use more of that in this day and age!

Repper definitely wins for fun and overall lack of frustration! I love how I can take one image, and could make what feels like a million collections from that one image, because of all the options! Thanks for this video, and for not being biased!

Good to hear someone mentioning the quality issue with AI patterns - so many RUclips videos make it seem like the patterns are perfect after the first prompt and overlook the issues with the repeat and warped motifs. Repper on the other is fun to use and also very consistent, but that is also it's main flaw for me, as that can make Repper patterns a bit samey in regards to their layout.

Thanks for your feedback, we appreciate it. Since Repper creates patterns based on geometric tilings, I can imagine that, when you've worked with it for a while, you start to recognize the different tilings and get similar results. However: There's still plenty of space for experimentation: Explore all the tilings including the seamed ones. Experiment with very different styles of source images and the size of your selection area. Add all kinds of effects like the metamorphosis, duotone or borders effect. There are so many different looks you can create. Have fun! :-)

I gave up Repper to experiment with AI for a while. I have made thousands of AI images, and tried to get good patterns, but it's too hard. I really missed Repper. So I went back. I also use AI images in Repper. It's a perfect marriage of apps for me.

So happy to hear that you came back 😍 Indeed, AI images are great as source images in Repper, because you don't need them to have perfect composition or be completely devoid of "weird elements" that AI often puts in. If you have an AI images where you like the shapes, style, and colours, Repper will help you turn them into a diverse pattern collection.

I tried making patterns using AI - was extremely disappointed in the results. Repper is so much better for patterns especially if you want co-ordinating designs.

Happy to hear we aren't the only ones 😅 We've seen people make really cool stuff with AI generators, but when I (Michel) was trying it out, I found it had a pretty steep learning curve and wasn't always very fun. While some AI image generators are getting more mature, the AI pattern generators still feel very early stage.

    • @GreenDreamCreative

I probably didn't persevere. I too have seen some awesome creations, especially those fantasy art based, but the time it must take to get it just right (and cost), it's not for me. I agree that the AI pattern generators are not as sophisticated as those which produce stunning artwork. @@repper

Is it possible to make repeating A1 paper size seamless patterns with this software?

    • @repper
      @repper  7 месяцев назад

It's possible, you can make huge exports with Repper. Of course, you do need high quality source images and also the tiling + selection area you select will determine how big your exports can be. I recommend you to read this blog, which explains all the ins and outs of image resolution in Repper: blog.repper.app/everything-you-want-to-know-about-image-resolution-in-repper/

i hate all the ai pattern generators i have tried. half the time they don't come out seamless no matter how many ways i describe it, there are often weird distorted bits somewhere, and I can't get it to understand different types of repeats....i love repper, i wish i could afford it :-(

We know how you feel, the AI pattern generators are a still a bit hit and miss! Repper is cheaper than most AI pattern generators AND has no usage limit. If you can’t afford an ongoing membership, consider getting it for a month and cancel? For $12.99, you can create unlimited patterns for a whole month.
