    Love from Denmark.
    If there is one team we really wanted to join us at the World Cup it would be Ireland.
    Next time guys ☺💪

    Outclassed and outplayed by a team prepared to play football. The Irish defensive,negative and rag tag and bobtail style of football will get caught out in the end... and it was. This style of management doesn't do the Irish players justice. The shock and bewilderment on the two coaches faces at the end said it all. Irish players deserve better than this. Over rated management, under rated players... all in all they got what they deserved for playing this type of negative football for too long.

    As an Ireland and Celtic fan, MON has given me some of my best football memories, however I hate the way he is so disrespectful to Tony O'Donahue who is only asking the questions we all want to ask...MON should respect that no matter what the question or result and to see him walk away from questions is very disappointing and surprising as a great fan of his

    I fucking love Martin O'Neil - His material is almost 0 to nothing and yet he gets Ireland to the playoffs - I got so much respect for this guy, and the fact that the journalist doens't appreciate that makes me sad on behalf of O'Neil. Wouldn't mind hiring O'Neil as head coach of the Danish National Team.

    it’s rash to throw him under the bus. Let him rebuild.

    Poor old Tony always gets it n the neck. When are International managers gonna realise that he’s only asking questions on behalf of the fans. We’re entitled to answers after a drubbing like that, not a childish strop. God knows he’s getting paid enough...

    Cannot believe ROBBIE KEANE, could not have contributed at least as a 30 minute sub. Even at 37 years of age he could have helped.

    I really feel sorry for this guy. I mean he tried his best to reach the play-offs, but he couldn't continue to succeed because of Irish team's quality.

      Ireland did reach the playoffs. They lost the playoff.

    • @formalsleek
      @formalsleek 7 лет назад +4

      And it will only decline more unfortunately. English clubs are no longer scouting Ireland due to the decline of Football as a whole over there. My cousin was offered a contract by Cork in his early teens in Football but he turned it down to see if he could make it in Gaelic Football or Hurling (he was blinding at all three in fairness and did make it in Gaelic). It reminds me of USA and why they won't get better until the sport becomes more popular for young people there... O'Neill has an ageing squad with no young talent coming through. Heart can only get you so far and agreed, it is not his fault.

    • @thefelinelover9001
      @thefelinelover9001 7 лет назад

      Taint ABird
      Sorry, that's what I meant! I meant that he could succeed and get the ticket to the world cup. Each team has his limits. I wish more developement for the Irish team in the next coming years. I'm a huge fan of Denmark, but I still respect the Irish spirit!
      We couldn't breathe in Copenhagen. But it seems that the Irish loosened us the rope in Dublin!!!

    • @taintabird23
      @taintabird23 7 лет назад +1

      Ireland got off to great start, but once Denmark equalised and we had to attack again, it exposed us at the back and Denmark took full advantage.
      Sadly, there is no football talent coming through in Ireland. Not sure why.

    • @thefelinelover9001
      @thefelinelover9001 7 лет назад

      Colum Kelly
      I understand your point.
      Sure you should have players from different generations in your team to succeed.
      O'Neil did his best, perhaps less a little bit. But sure, it's not his fault. This is the current Irish team's abilities!

  • @formalsleek
    @formalsleek 7 лет назад +9

    That reporter is an absolute muppet. I know he was hurting about the result, but to blame Martin O'Neill for this result and previous results is absurd (rightly O'Neill mentions the Germany result amongst others). The man has got an ageing squad, With no real base for development of new ones due to clubs in the premier league/championship stopping scouting in Ireland. Which in fairness I can't blame them, when soccer (yes Irish call Football soccer) is Ireland's 3rd sport after Hurling and Football (Gaelic Football). This guy has done a great job with what he has got, he did not deserve that. He did well to not lose it completely with the reporter. Also well played Christian Eriksen, he was class in all fairness.

    • @colmfarrel4742
      @colmfarrel4742 7 лет назад +1

      Colum Kelly completely agree with you, except your point about Eriksen. it was beyond obvious that he needed to be double marked at virtually all times.

    11 months later and Martin Oneill is still staggering on from one crisis to the next now 5 competitive matches without a win!!!!!
    Lost twice to wales in nations league and held to a scoreless draw at home by denmark in nations league
    Now next month November 2018 ireland will lose away to denmark in nations league and be relegated to league C for next edition of this competition!!
    ONeill like the last 3 years of trap's time in charge is now all going pearshaped!!!

  • @westsidecrew5578
    @westsidecrew5578 7 лет назад +1

    I have found O'Neill quite pleasant sometimes in his interviews or as a pundit but he clearly totally screwed up here big time and deserves to be sacked!! They were only a goal behind and needed to keep their discipline and shape. Yet he took off their two defensive midfielders when there was no need to do so at that time and handed the momentum to Denmark. He can't surely stay on in his job!

  • @subsoil007
    @subsoil007 Месяц назад

    Tony's downfall is he questions managers tactical decisions.. It's like he can't accept Denmark were better.. He goes thru the subs and changes.. Questions Martin like he is in an exam... Ridiculous interviewer

    Jesus, Tony's giving him a right grilling, I think he's being influenced too much by the panel, O'Neill has a great pedigree and did fairly well with a poor team, even if he made some decisions I and others wouldn't make. For every decision someone makes, there's always going to be a 100 other people who would make a different decision and will criticise the first guy.

    He needs to go. He can't find any good talent for the team beyond the talent of Brady, McClean and Long. I'd say we should find a 5 year experienced manager from the Irish division that can help give the Irish team a fresh young talent approach. If this gobshite is gonna be in charge of our Euro 2020 campaign I'm done.

    I do like Martin O'Neill but I think his time is up. There were dreadful mistakes leading to goals but there were also dreadful mistakes made in the team selection, the substitutions and the tactics. We've got players in the squad that are well capable of playing good football, and do so on a weekly basis for their clubs, but as soon as they pull on the green shirt they forget how to play. That wasn't football we were playing against Denmark. It comes from the manager. I'm sorry Martin but you've got to go. If you played that "football" under Clough he would fucking lose the plot with you. And please take Roy Keane with you. Another bloke who has won everything in the game but somehow can sit over that shit and collect a paycheck.

  • @thomasoflaherty3520
    @thomasoflaherty3520 7 лет назад +1

    Unlucky Ireland, Martin puts up some very good points ala record, comebacks etc and yes, compared to Denmark Ireland just doesn't have that kind of quality. It would always help to, if we can ever find a great prolific goal scorer or two which we have lacked for some time now. We go again GAWA.
