Michael's music is with me everyday. It let's me disconnect from this crazy world we have swirling around us. I see it as his gift to all of us so we can do just that. Every thing he and Hugh P. did together was a hit in my book. Would make a great compilation album etc. Thank you Michael for all your talent and how it lives on. and thanks to MJ Blue for bringing it to us so well. God Bless.
When we spread Michael's ashes at the feet of a Bristle Cone Pine in Colorado I left with a beautiful stone I found at the base of the tree. This year I walked the 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. There is a steep climbing day up to "the Iron Cross" where for a 1,000 years pilgrims have left a rock or item to represent a burden they wish to let go of, or to honor someone who has passed. One item I brought from home for this very sacred day was Michael's rock. I carried it in a pocket in my backpack for several weeks, but it vanished 2 days before the Iron Cross trek. Just gone. Only to be found in that same pocket the day AFTER the Iron Cross. Very funny, Michael. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face all day. I heard loud and clear that his preference was to return to his Bristlecone Pine resting place. So be it. This week I will return to the mountains and take his rock back home.
This is so beautiful. Did you know him very well? He has been a part of my life, always, although I cannot remember him. His songs are a part of my life, and always have been - you see, my father is also named Michael Johnson. And guess the musician he loves the most?
@@shoepixie Yes, he was a very good friend for over 20 years. His music is a very good thing to tuck into the corners of your life. Your father has good taste.
@@mollylord4437 is it strange to say, I wish I could hear stories about him. My father loves the song 'Whisper Your Name' it's his favourite song. I wish I remembered meeting him or had been older. But this song, it gives me shivers.
