Another handshake tip is to move one step back after the handshake and watch the steps of other person. If they move closer to you, it means they want to have a deeper relationship with you. If they stay on the same spot, it means they are okay with the current settings. If they move back, it means, they are not comfortable. You can then use this information to your advantage.
Where did you learn that from?
@@redacted.handle lol I'd also like to know
That is interesting. I will keep that in mind. Majority of people think that social media is the answer when it's not. I also hate bullshitters. These videos are awesome.

THANK YOU
I admire how you add so much value in every single video that you posted, Dan!
I will see you in person very soon.
I have been watching the intro on loop. Seeing Mr. Lok always firm and composed, this intro was way too fun. I am so grateful to all his videos. I can’t express the amount of confidence I gained over his mentorship.

I'm in love with this guy. Broke in third world, but...this guy keeps me going.
I love the conversation starter :“What brought you to the event?“ Another good one is „So how do you know the host?“ if the meeting is in a smaller more personal setting.

Communication skills are really important. And how you leave others feeling after interacting with you, will make a lasting impression on them. Be genuine, confident and engaging.

It is funny how most people introduce themselves as the excited person. Thanks for sharing.
I listened to this 3 times. I love people and I can get excited. I even made an enemy for life once based on not being reserved (clearly this person had issues, but still).
Great advice for anyone even if you make good first impressions generally.
That intro, ... It felt so real, ..
Like a modern day vlogger or summin hahha i was caught off guard
IT Does work I had a job tell me they loved my eye contact and how calm but confident I was so I got a job offer
have an interview tomorrow myself! will try to stay calm and confident too
Congratulations!
Im a sucker for eye contact ..i dont make eye contact. Thats my problem. I dont recommend this for anyone. Making eye contact is one of the key to land a job or close a deal. Not the most important but one of it. I failed at that. Still do.

Congratulations
Great skill set Dan!! I worked in retail sales for 35 years and many times I only had one opportunity to make a favorable impression .You have shown it perfectly thank you !
I havent seen that calmness while greeting before , but it looks very powerful . For the most part , people are just hesitated at this time
Thank you for sharing this! It can be difficult to meet new people in a business setting when you feel like you don’t belong. “So what brought YOU to the event?” takes some pressure off of the person asking, and opens the door of possible common ground for both persons to engage in a great conversation. Love this!! 🤗
Thank you so much for making this video! Communication and the first impression are so important and critical. I would look forward to more videos of that kind in the future.
And also one video a lot of people are actually interested in is: the steps to how to make good decisions (in business and life) and staying focused at the same time.
I would really appreciate that Sifu.
2020 Update: Handshakes are no longer allowed.
Hahahaa
Fistbumps are the new handshakes
@@thinkingwiser8774 You mean fist to nose?
Yup. He needs to make a new video: how to professionally introduce yourself during Covid. I'm guessing everything but the handshake. Eye contact, take your time introducing yourself...

The fact that I am watching this till end made me believe you are the right mentor for me in sales! Thanks lord you popped at the right time when I needed most.
Thank You Dan.
Learning & Working On Yourself Is A Daily Ritual! Non Negotiable!!
It's amazing how many people are still socially awkward and need this kind of instruction on something so simple as how to properly meet people in a business setting.
But it's great that you're doing this, Sifu... Because it's so needed!
umm hello?? there are introverts in this world duhh thats why?

Being an introvert myself, I often choose not to raise my voice around people. Perhaps being introverted was a blessing in disguise as wanting to keep a low profile helped me remain cordial and composed when being around others. Sometimes I'm surprised that some people choose to make a scene when introducing themselves.

I appreciate that prosperous man teaches other people.
Thank you for covering this question. This is one of the many other important interview questions you covered in your other videos that I watched and prepared for before my job interview last month. I nailed the interview and I am now waiting for my employment contract to be signed. Gob bless!

Absolutely live changing advice.
Dan is a legend! You teach such high value material.
I've always struggled with things like this, but this is the type of video many people truly need. Having confidence and being able to talk to people is how you are going to secure some of your most life changing relationships. It's too easy in todays world to hide behind a screen and physical interaction needs to be talked about more.
Hey Dan, I watched a bunch of your videos and made it to the 2nd round of interviews for this promotion/position. Here's to you and all your help! Thank you!!
I have just watched one or two videos of yours... and im 100% sure you are the person im suppose to be following....very powerful and impactful videos....great job..
Dear Mr Dan Lok, as usual thank you for your time and valuable lessons. I used to do this method before reaching to your video and it really works. The handshake for us it's forbidden so a firm but sharp eye contact can reveal a lot. I got a job offer for international property consultant by the age of 19 for I was able to present my self properly.
Dan trying to hold his laugh in the first seconds of the video, I couldn’t even hold my laugh there 😂 but thank you Dan!

When a billionaire has to teach how to say your name because your parents are incompetent
I legitimately laughed out loud.
@@chadelliottfahlman-htcgrad7866 Same here.
There isn't a need to insult your parents; likely they only want the best for you, they just don't know how to get you there or they would have done it themselves. If you watch Dan's other videos he does address having to ignore the advice of your parents. The best and logical explanation he gives is that if you follow their advice, you will end up just like them. So if you want to be better than them, you have to do things differently. This is the best way to put it without sounding insulting and disrespectful.
@@vanillacokejunky
I can see your concerns, I would say the same thing.
I appreciate that you care about me and you want to help me.
I wasn't referring to my own parents.
I respect them and love them.
I was talking about the video itself and its purpose.
I'm sorry if I was mean.
In my opinion we really got to that point where the majority of people don't put that much interest in teaching the young ones how to behave.
Lol. Damn put it that way hahah..
