I actually was in the audience the next night, January 18 but no guests like this young lady. They played stump the band that night and I got on camera for a split second. A moment I’ll never forget with Carson a couple of feet away. He was the best that will ever do this.

This has funny moments, but I think it was geared towards insomniacs. In the late 80's I recall waking to my daughter watching Johnny Carson at the foot of my bed. Such a memory.

Oddly enough, almost 2 years after this, Richard Pryor was in an Exorcist parody on Saturday Night Live (Dec., 1975).

ChevKen Amen. A true genius, who influenced countless artists. If you're into metal, listen to Slayer's Gemini (based on Blatty's Legion), and the references to The Exorcist in South of Heaven.

Can you imagine the uproar there would be today over the things Johnny and Fernando were saying to Robyn? He'd probably get fired.

Little fact: In January and February 1974 in England they were in the middle of horrible strikes, rolling power outages and the three television channels in England were forced by the government to conclude broadcasting each night at 10.30pm to save electricity. I know some of my family went to the US during that time as they would not stand it back home in England. They remember watching Carson in their hotel room each night.

Johnny Carson has a strange conservative streak to him back in those days. But he definitely lightened up by the 1980s.

    • @johnking5174

Ed McMahon revealed that Carson was socially liberal, fiscally conservative in his politics. He classed him as an Eisenhower Republican. He opposed the Vietnam War. He supported the rights for women to have abortions. He favored racial equality, and was against criminalizing extramarital sex and pornography. In 1970 he said "In my living room I would argue for liberalization of abortion laws, divorce laws, and there are times when I would like to express a view on the air. I would love to have taken on Billy Graham. But I'm on TV five nights a week; I have nothing to gain by it and everything to lose."

Considering the Russian garbage was all a lie /hoax done by the demoncrats, he probably would make fun of the demoncrat party, especially Adam Schiff and polluted Pelosi.
