- In this video I bring you the new Atlas N Dash 8 review. I am taking an in-depth look at the Atlas N Master Line Silver Series Dash 8-40CW, NS 8334. This is a DC model that is DCC and sound ready. I will also install a LokSound sound decoder to see and hear its full potential.

Compare this locomotive to some Dash 9 models from Scale Trains in this video: ruclips.net/video/mVMiZKeS-Uk/видео.html
I bought many styles of Atlas engines in mostly DCC and very good quality products love them all.
Impressive from Atlas. Stepping up on looks and running.
Looks great and sounded great too. Thanks for another great review. Ron
Your reviews are awsome to us all
Nicely done! Glad you are showing us a comparison of how much locos can pull. Important for a guy like me.
Very nice upload you put together thanks for sharing.
Ron thanks very much for replying to my comment. It's nice to see other people's work to get idea to improve my Channel. Take care & stay safe.
Great review Ron.....Been looking at those new units....Your review makes me want one....Thanks. Bob
They are quite nice. Good job by Atlas.
That's an interesting chassis set up.
Speaking of chassis, Ron do you know if Atlas took over Intermountains N scale production of locomotives? The IMRRco SD40-2 and newer Atlas sound ready locomotives are nearly identical . Thanks!
No, I believe Intermountain is still handling it's own locomotives. Live everything else, the have just had a slow down the past couple years.
Nice video! I just got the model. Do you know if putting the train back in its original box could damage the self installed sunshades? I move around a lot and I have to put the train back in its box during transportation.
Turns out 8334 in real life does NOT have sun shades. Will have to putty the 2 sets of holes.
Ron, I am sorry but I cannot figure out what catalog number of loksound decoder you purchased to convert these silver to dcc. is the info in the package? also I don't seem to see the link to your RTNT video where you did it. Including catalog numbers of everything that you review will help in future videos. I purchased two of these because of them but I still need help finding the right decoder. Tonys sells one but one has to modify the frame and I do not want that, I want the newest one like you used. can you please post the catalog number? thanks
Hi Lyndon. Thanks for your comment. Including part #s is a good idea I hadn't thought of but should have. I did, however, show the original box for the decoder with the part # on it in the installation video. Anyway, the decoder is LokSound # 58721. Good luck and let me know how your installation etc goes. 👍🏼
@@RonsRailReviews Thank you Ron, much appreciated. I will get it and figure out which sound file to choose to load but I will seek the help of the hobby shop and or lok sound to choose the right one for theses locos. I appreciate you writing back.
