    I bought mine last year just before deer season. Chambered in 6.5. It shot less than MOA. Super pleased with it. Took a doe for me in deer season. Great gun. The trigger was extremely heavy but it can be adjust with some slight modifications... Got mine down to about 3 1/2 lbs. I hope they make an aftermarket trigger for it. Great video!

      @Redskin4ever *too old, is when the benefit doesn't is not greater than the cost or effort. Ha ha, that might be different things as one goes along and different for different people. That same effort might not be a problem if they are sufficiently motivated. I've seen people dropped loved hobbies just because the person they did it with has passed but tbey keep doing other more vigorous activities long after.

    I got the .243 model, wood stock, 5# trigger etc. Cleaned it up and lubricated the locking lugs and the bolt body before test firing. I sent a borescope in the barrel after running some patches through it right out of the box and saw some copper fouling so I did another cleaning with Patch Out and a light polishing with JB bore paste. Ran the scope again and still saw a little trace of copper. Currently I have a Vortex Strike eagle 5-25 mounted on it for accuracy testing and have tried two factory loads, Norma 76 grain Tip Strike and Hornady 100 grain American Whitetail I believe it's called. Norma shot one moa at 100 yards right out of the box one three shot group was.75 moa the other two were honest one moa shot from a bench with a Harris bipod and a rear bag. Three shot group of the Hornady was almost two moa. I didn't fire anymore of them not just because of the accuracy I also had one round I barely got the bolt closed on. After I shot I measured the unfired Hornady brass with a Hornady headspace comparator and the Norma unfired and found the Hornady was about .005-.006 longer. I also checked some new Winchester brass and found it longer but Remington and Fiochi were the same measurement as Norma and all chambered easily but not any of the longer brass. I also measured the fired Norma brass and it grew to the dimension of the unfired Hornady this is something to keep in mind if handloading for this particular rifle not all of them may be chambered the same depending on the headspace. I don't see it as a problem maybe if you handload pay attention to the headspace if you don't push the shoulders back enough you will get a hard bolt close. After firing a few rounds and cleaning the bolt again and lubricating the lugs the bolt is smoother now. The trigger might be next to work on other than that it's a keeper.

    Had one in 308 but traded it in. If you hold the fore end and push the barrel either way it moved side to side and I had that thing torqued to the max! The way the action is secured in the stock is pretty weird! The bolt while being chrome plated and very slick would catch when pushing forward from time to time. But regardless of testing various brands of ammo and testing handloads it could not print 5 shots into an inch contrary to there accuracy claims. Yes the woodwork is beautiful but when all is said and done I'll take a Howa any day.

    @perdidocamaronero5400 9 месяцев назад

    I will add the fore end of the stock is skeletonized I assume to reduce weight but makes for installing a rail a little iffy. It also makes the stock flimsier maybe it won't warp with all the relief. You can press on the stock towards the end and bend it towards the barrel however it is free floated. I most likely will put a sling stud to rail adapter and use a better bipod or try installing an Atlas rail later. Another thing, when manipulating the bolt push it straight in with no downward pressure on the handle. Once it has reached full travel then come down with the handle it seems to engage the locking lugs easier and the bolt closes with little effort. I saw some comments about hard bolt closing. If you operate it in this manner with live ammo it's the case making contact in the chamber on the shoulder. I tried some brass I sized for another .243 I have and I couldn't close the bolt at all.

With rifles in the $400 range, the accuracy is inconsistent. Some are good, some are bad. Then the warranty comes into play - will the manufacturer fix an inaccurate rifle if you send it back? I purchased one before deer season and shot it this year. Didn't like the way the action worked with ammo in it. Needs to be worked a lot or filed down. Could hardly get the action to close. The bolt could come forward but stuck as you needed to turn the handle down. Could have just been mine but I didn't want to start filing on it. Besides that it was a nice gun for the price.

    Looking forward to the range test. Not sure why they did the 20" barrel on the .308 if they weren't going to thread the barrel? Thanks for sharing!

    The wood looks like Turkish walnut. Looks like a basic #2 barrel. Short action calibers. 243, 308, and 7mm 08 are the same shell case with different neck sizes. Haven't jumped on the 6.5cm bandwagon, don't know the specs on that 1.

    I have two. One in 6.5 and the other in .243. Both are shooters...and beautiful turkish walnut. Dont really need another .308, but waiting on it to ship to the gun shop when available ...He's having a hard time getting them from his distributer now. These are nice rifles. The trigger is adjustable if you can negotiate the locktight adhesive they put on the adjustment screw...there are videos on here that give instructions. I havent adjusted mine yet and both triggers are right at 5.5lbs according to my wheeler trigger gauge.

    Damn, that's a nice looking bolt gun for sub $500! I LOVE wood stocks on bolt and lever guns, but they are getting harder to find with everyone going to synthetics. Add the short bolt throw and if it's even a decently accurate gun I might be sold. No adjustable trigger, I assume? I really don't need another short-action (does it come in standard length, maybe? I could use a .270win...). Guess I could go to their website and look at specs.
    Can't wait to see how it shoots

    I have an axis II chambered in 350 (I have to use straight walled cartridges where I live and hunt). It's MSRP is similar to this gun. This seems like a higher quality weapon than my axis II...I did get mine for less (Dunhams flash sale in 2019) and it actually came with a decent...very usable...much to my surprise...scope, however. I would be interested if it came chambered for rounds that I could actually use here during deer season. No complaints, however. The axis II 350 has been coming through! 🙂.
    I enjoy your channel. Once again, thanks for posting. God bless.

    Is it worth the cost savings with the heavy trigger? The axis or 110 comes with the accutrigger which I'm thinking is worth the extra $. Just curious. Looks like a beautiful rifle!

    I had one in .243. Walnut.... stunningly gorgeous rifle. Extremly accurate and fun shooter. I ended up selling mine because the trigger was atrocious for me..... heavy as you said and a lot of creep. Great gun though!

    • @peterhrkal8165
      @peterhrkal8165 9 месяцев назад

      @WayStedYou yes they are... I didn't try to adjust mine. it crept a bunch and was tough to get used to. Accurate still like I said so maybe the trigger didn't matter that much. I also wanted a longer barrel. I ended up getting a winchester XPR for about the same price. While the 334 is beautiful and accurate, the XPR is as accurate, way way better trigger same 60 deg bolt throw.
