After your rust video, I pulled both of mine out of the safe for inspection. Fortunately, no rust at this time. I will keep a lookout though. I wouldn't have put a gloss finish over blasted steel. The imperfections, as you call it is referred to as blast profile. If gloss is the goal, it really won't take much effort to make it all worth while. Otherwise, a nice matte finish will do.
You can prevent any rust by simply wiping your rifles down with WD-40 and a good cotton rag or cloth. I’ve used that on rifles since my first when I was 5 years old and none of them ever rust even the cheapos with nitride finishes.
@@JayLewisFarmStyle if $5 a can more is worth it to ya ig get the rem oil but my step father has 5 ruger m77 rifles that are all early 2000s and those are sporter grade rifles. He’s used wd40 on them since before I was even conceived and they all look brand new to this day. To me rem oil just screams marketing scam with money mouths to back it up to each there own tho.
That looks like a pretty nice Maple stock on that.
Nice looking riffle, thanks, Jay.
Thanks for watching Sammy 👍

@@JayLewisFarmStyle Good stuff with no nonsense. I'll keep watching.

I'll agree to disagree with the use of WD-40 on firearms, but I'm glad it works for you.
Thanks for watching 👍
Gun oil. Not WD40
@@benjaminleatham1587 my rifles dont seem to notice a difference 🤷🏻

@@briankinzer4175 if it works, it works I normally just use the WD-40 for the arthritis in my elbow😂
Are there any Steven's firearms that have no problems, I never saw one
"If you want a nicer firearm, buy one."

I'm gonna print that on a T-shirt.
@@JayLewisFarmStyle I do have nice guns they don't say Steven's shit!
Can the rifle be threaded for a muzzzle break
